A lot of our users hate the automatic timeline refresh and would prefer to refresh their timelines manually. We are thinking about getting rid of it, what do you think?

Remove the auto refresh.

Keep the auto refresh.

Or could we have the option to choose?

I voted to remove auto-refresh; however, I defer to your judgment. I ultimately want whatever is practical and makes browsing/navigating the site run smoothly. If one option greatly helps to that end more than the other, then go with that option. Otherwise, it's just splitting hairs.

Yeah it's pretty awful...seems like Twitter had that same thing for awhile and it sucked over there too, but let's see what the voters want

Make is a toggle option. It's already there, just let us choose to use it or not.

Is this what causes it to be such a resource hog with Safari and give you the "consider closing this tab" warning? If so, then yes, toss it. Otherwise, I don't have an opinion.

Auto timeline refresh also one of the things I loathed about Twitter, so yes please, get rid of it, I can choose when to refresh ta

Agreed, I move slow and want to read a lot. When I read an article and then it bounces me back to the top, I'm frustrated

Either works. Honestly didn't notice it auto refreshes.

Is there anyway the spouts can get "mixed" up more. For example, if 1 person goes on a spouting spree my timeline is full of that 1 persons spouts and while I love all the folks I follow would like to see some variety

I feel like I was getting more interaction with the auto-refresh and I like being able to scan new content without having to refresh and scroll. Would it be possible for users to turn it on or off? Thanks.

Why, when I leave the Timeline (e.g, to look at Mentions) do I get sent back to the top when I return?
Fix this.

Why must it be one or the other? Can't we just have a setting?

I think a user setting allowing folks to choose would be a great solution.

I concur with other’s suggestions to offer a toggle on/off option so users can choose.

On twitter I always end up back where I left off in my timeline and I like that behavior.

I assume you're talking about when scrolling and it auto refreshed as you scroll. Spoutible doesn't work as an unlimited scroll it stops and you can't tell if it's loading. If it was like Twitter and kept loading content for an endless scroll that'd be cool

I would make it a user setting with auto refresh disabled by default. Thanks!

I actually like auto refresh, but a usable toggle would be great. The other site got rid of it and clicking on the top links for content got tedious after a while.

Finally a social media site actually brings up the idea, however I will suggest something instead of removing it all together why don't we make it a setting toggle we can each decide.

So ... there's that.
