I have heard of it. It's one of my favorite historical events. Thanks for sharing!

I've been told I should read The Theory of Moral Sentiments first and then Wealth of Nations. The first is supposed to shed light on the meaning behind what Smith is saying in the second. I'd like to read both someday.

I love the crossposting feature. Thank you for giving it to us. I don't know how much of a demand there is to add CounterSocial to the list but that's another social media site I use and it would be great to crosspost there as well.

This isn't a lack of knowledge. He's rewriting history on purpose. Just like the people who say slavery was good for slaves because they learned skills.

I still wear my mask when I'm in public. Not just for Covid but for allergies, colds, flus, RSV, and anything else that might be going around. I like not being sick.

I don't use it as a "thread" or conversation tool. I've weeded out most of the unwanted, forced, algorithm stuff and now I'm left with cute animal pictures.

I had my dad get me some chicken baby food. It's chicken and broth. I put it in the microwave and mixed it with a little gravy and used a syringe to feed her. It stayed down for about an hour. She just threw up some of it. She's 12 yrs old. Maybe it isn't just allergies.

Do you know how many of those I muted on Threads? They're everywhere and there are so many! Thank goodness they aren't here.

It's useless if you want to stay in touch with the accounts you follow. I mute more unwanted accounts there than I block ads on Twitter.

Meta doesn't believe in chronological order so the timeline will never be fixed. My only hope is that by muting all the crap it throws at me I can train it's algorithm to only show my animal accounts.

I've had a few new people follow me. They haven't DM'd me though. With IG's lack of chronological order and algorithm that inserts stranders and ads into my feed, I don't spend a lot of time there. It's too hard to weed through all that to find who I follow.

I envision it more like one of those chair-throwing free-for-alls that we see from a Jerry Springer show with a Ex-girlfriend vs New Girlfriend screaming match from a Maury DNA results show.

I wonder what the expulsion ritual consisted of? I was never part of the bully clique in junior high school so I don't know what they did when they turned on one of their own.

Do you understand how it works? If I only want to see the people I follow do I have to ignore that main screen and just go to my threads and have conversations with my followers? Is it like a public texting app with the main screen essentially a "Who to follow" suggestion list?

That's a good idea. I think they could refinance all loans at a lower interest rate, remove some or all of the interest owed, restructure the payment allocation so that all payments apply to principal first. A lot of ways to address the problem.
