I really appreciate the transparency.
I do worry a bit, though, because blocking/muting users are the main tools we have to curate our timeline, esp. if we don’t want to turn off echoes. Using those tools doesn’t mean the person behaved badly. They may just post stuff you don’t want to see.

Nope, and no other Twitter alternative but Threads could do it. We could handle a few hundred thousand new users overnight, but we couldn't handle millions. That type of insta-growth is uncommon. However, I do believe our infrastructure is better than Bluesky's.
