CNN plans to host a town hall with Trump.

Pretending this is normal is what got us into this.

Pretending it's a gotcha that I'm critical of certain Biden policies after voting for him, is what's wrong with US politics today

Voting for a person doesn't mean I can't critique them—it's literally the best reason to be critical. It's called holding electeds accountable. It's how democracy works.

Still not a word from John Roberts about Clarence Thomas—Roberts the Chief Justice who has previously proclaimed he cares about the Supreme Court’s reputation.

Yes to nasal vaccines!
Dr. Lucky Tran @luckytran
At least this is a step in the right direction. Nasal vaccines that are much better at reducing #COVID transmission would be huge for making public spaces accessible to everyone again and reducing #LOngCOVID . There needs to be so much more urgency on this!

Reminder: Spoutible isn't Twitter, and some people are bringing their Twitter habits here. "Free speech" doesn't mean being free to bully or harass. If your goal is to be disruptive, this is not the platform for you.

Interesting to note:

When antebellum members of Congress were censured and resigned, they sometimes ran for re-election and won—by massive margins, thereby returning to Congress with a real mandate.

Tennessee? You looking?

The TN GOP just turned Justin Jones into a political superstar.

They will regret this, much sooner than they expect and for many years to come.

The GOP-controlled Tennessee House has expelled Rep. Justin Jones because he protested with his constituents the killing of the innocents #CovenantSchool . This is what GOP authoritarianism looks like. Its retributive and spiteful. Un-elect these bastards before we lose what's left of Democracy.

I've been watching this alarming authoritarian move unfold and couldn't believe what I saw and heard on that livestream. They think they've silenced these young, inspiring Black representatives with their blatantly racist hearing, but they're so wrong.

Despite a slew of prominent Democratic officeholders endorsing him, a rich charter school baron lost the Chicago Mayor’s race to a public school teacher.

The #txlege House just voted to ban private school vouchers, including many Republican members.

Public institutions are popular, actually! 💁

Election rigging exists in the US. It just comes in the form of gerrymandering, legalized campaign finance corruption, and this: changing electoral laws or protocols to disenfranchise people who are likely to vote for Democrats.

The GOP rejection of the indictment before the actual charges are unsealed makes vividly clear they resoundingly oppose the fundamental principle of justice—that no one is above the law. This, not any indictment, is a tragedy.

First spout: this week I called on elected prosecutors around the country to stand up to the threats & intimidation tactics being used against the Manhattan DA. Critique cases, criticize decisions, litigate in court, but threats against prosecutors don’t belong in a democracy.

It was so disappointing because I always assumed in LA it would be raining men.
