Gee, you mean the one time in recent memory that I can think of when there's an actual, real instance of someone committing voter fraud, of *actual* attempts to vote multiple times, it's one of the people who cry election fraud all the time?
Confessional accusations indeed.

Aw, I love when bookstores do this. When I saw this pic, for a second, I thot it was from my own local store, Talking Leaves... Books. I'm so pleased this is a common practice, tho: nothing sells me on a novel like personal endorsement.
EDIT: Oh, and congrats!

Well, I also use Duck Duck Go's VPN on the mobile, too, so that sometimes blocks noise, too.
Anyway, point is, I'm sorry I didn't consider the app thing before asking. Mea culpa.

Oh! Apps. I forgot those.
I don't use apps if there's a website with the functionality I want. All an app is in most cases is a very narrowly-usable browser, so I just open the site in a browser instead, & since I use Firefox on my phone (the only browser for mobiles w/ extensions), same thing.

So you again ignore the point & keep up your deliberate misunderstanding of the issue. I don't want to bully you, I was trying to understand your sideways comment.
You come off like you're following the conservative playbook. Derail the subject, confessional accusations, anti-conversation. 0/5 ⭐️

Neighbor, the quote isn't the question I'm asking, but an example. I'm asking: if I *did* ask that question, would you be scarred for decades, as you imply, simply because I called you cisgendered? Do you not identify with the sex you were assigned at birth (which is what "cis[gender]" means)?
06:48 PM - Mar 06, 2024
In response to Saint Clinton.
So your claim is along the lines that we could be in a discussion & I said "I can't speak for you, St. Clinton, bc I'm not cisgendered like you. How do you see the issue of trans healthcare?"... you'd be traumatized bc I noted that you're cis? (Unless you'd told me you weren't cisgendered.)

I understand you fine, but I guess I'm not being clear.
There are occasions when we need to mention someone's attributes, when they're relevant to the matter at hand. It might be perfectly valid and respectful to mention such things in certain contexts. Would noting your occupation also offend you?

And what if it's a means to distinguish your gender identity in a relevant situation? E.g. if a heterosexual person offers an opinion about a lesbian relationship affected by anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, then calling them hetero doesn't negate their name or identity, it makes a valid clarification.

In response to Fern Lovebond (they/them).
Because, let me be clear: when I would cry about ppl calling me "redhead," EVERYONE would deny my view that it was an insult. So when I hear someone complain about being called "cis" I have to wonder why they feel so insecure about their gender boundaries that a basic distinction bothers them.
05:25 PM - Mar 06, 2024
In response to Fern Lovebond (they/them).
So I look at this offense about the word "cis"--a healthcare distinction to differentiate between ppl who identify in differing ways about their social gender--and wonder why the context isn't really the determining factor.

I find the debate over cis-is/n't-a-slur kind of fascinating & slightly parallel to something I grew up with.
As a kid, I was teased & sometimes bullied for my hair color. "Redhead" was often said w/ contempt, or disgust, & I was called "soul-less" or a witch, for it. Yet it's not a slur normally.

I mean, yeah? It's well done, but not *that* well done. High production can't make up for the fact that it left me feeling both moderately disinterested and a bit condescended to. I know I'm of an unpopular opinion, but that's how I feel. No shade for those who disagree.

In Florida male prisons, inmates can't have facial hair beyond a certain length, & were once required to have a "medical shave pass" to be unshaven. 60% of black males are affected by "shaving bumps." To save costs, some prisons have discontinued the shaving pass process & allow longer facial hair.
09:49 AM - Feb 15, 2024
In response to Jack Mcgraw.
Because shaving "bumps"--or pseudofolliculitis barbae, inflammation from curly hair grown beneath the surface of the skin due to shaving--largely occur in males with the darker skin tones & flat, curled follicles of black folks. Mormons (founders of BYU) skew heavily white. Do the math.
