I can't imagine the level of audacity it takes to see someone's general statement, apply it to oneself, take it PERSONALLY, and then demand an explanation from someone you have never spoken a single fuckin word to before.
That's troll behavior.
But we don't do that over here, right?

Right?

I don't think that the fact that the people who vote NO won should be the end of the conversation. Democracy is not just voting. It is also allowing those who are in the minority to raise their concerns, specially in a topic that is not white or black such as sex positive spaces (3)

Some of these OF content creators are LGBTQ, trans positive and left leaning person's. I think the alternative should be hide these spouts for people who don't want to watch NSFW content but not ban it altogether (2)

Having said that I support what Spoutible is aiming for in spite of this difference of opinion. I wish @KittenInACave and all people here can build an inclusive, respectful platform.

Agree with your feeling. The answer should not be "then just leave". Please let's not be like Elon's psycophants

I'm not sure I want to stay. Spoutible touted itself as a true twitter replacement, a place we could all be safer.

Then it appears to have left sex workers, kinksters, and other groups at specific risk of harassment & abuse online, to fend for themselves on twitter.

Disappointingly judgemental!

Same. I'm not on the mushroom app because they instituted a hard NSFW ban. I'll leave this place if this one holds, too. Part of being an adult on the internet is accepting that sometimes you're gonna be exposed to content you don't like and handling that like an adult, not banning everything.

There are plenty of ways to deal with that without banning all NSFW content. NSFW filters, Block Buttons, NSFW 'Opt-in'/'Opt-Out' buttons. . .

Also consider that SHARING the open internet with other people means sometimes being exposed to content you didn't ask for and handling it like an adult.

For your consideration:
I saw a spout criticizing those of us who did not sign up w/ our actual names

For some of us it's a matter of safety. Our lives, home communities, jobs make it dangerous to expose ourselves on ANY public platform

Please don't assume we are hiding behind a keyboard

Thanks for Spouting this - I hadn't thought of this til you wrote. If we want to help people pull away from Musk's unsafe orbit sex workers, kink groups etc should be included. For now, Spoutible could do with a clear single account where you could drop this concern & weaknesses re accessibility.

Have two flags/filters: Adult content (depiction of violence, etc...) and sexual adult content (nudity, fetishes, ...) and allow people to select individually.

Creators could mark spouts as either or both, and that setting would then apply to all interactions with that spout too.

Would be nice

Filters, muting, blocking are effective ways for users to make their own decisions on what content they want to see and when they want to see it. Works for me!
Really makes it feel like the "Community" is an HOA board telling you what kind of plants you can have in your garden.
Let them in.

I didn't see that survey. I think we should support sex workers. There are plenty of ways to filter content. Sex workers should have safe spaces in online communities too.

-artful nudity or overtly sexual?
-is talking about sex work/kink forbidden? Or just pics/vids?
-which is the hard no?

People experience overt sexuality differently, and me as a European has another POV than an US-American or an Asian. I find both some comments too prude+others not prude enou

I was asked, however I did not consider SW might want to join Spoutible to protect themselves from harassment.
Your idea for a allow/disallow NSFW content is excellent - hopefully @cbouzy will see and consider it.

I'm here and I was never asked. With options/settings like "Allow NSFW content on my feed" I don't see you can't allow people to post what they want, while keeping those who don't want to see it from seeing it. We're all adults here.

I don't remember the question. I think it should definitely be allowed with age verification and nsfw settings. Make this the safe place for all, as long as your interests aren't centered around hate.

Mr. @cbouzy - could we ask again? Maybe with more nuance around vids & pics? SW & the whole of us need a safe space.

IMO this should not be a US centric app. Long term there should be a way for people to flag their account as mature audience and for users to flag to block it. Advertisers would also be able to disassociate. It not an easy problem to tackle but it can be done.

Thanks for drawing attention to this. SWs deserve safe social networks too. There has to be a better way to manage this than a blanket ban on "adult content", whatever that means.
