100%. The numbers are most likely higher as I believe this is diagnosed cases. So many are not getting diagnosed, particularly kids. It's challenging to find a doctor who understands Long Covid and the Long Covid clinics have large waits.

I'm hoping that they won't be able to get enough Republicans to walk out next year to affect the quorum. If they do, we need to change the 2/3 quorum that creates this mess. Already, the Republicans who can't run again are saying they might not show up for the Governor's mini session. 🤬

This is when it would be helpful for corporate lobbyists who fund the politicians to make some phone calls. Do they really think the chaos of 25 states' National Guard going to the border won't tank the stock market? This is becoming a Constitutional crisis.

I'd love to see Biden or Harris meet with some Long Covid advocates and discuss these accomplishments. It's those types of efforts that will help people understand that they haven't been abandoned. People who suffer from Long Covid aren't reading HHS announcements and the press is silent.

Because they don't know Biden is doing these things for them. That's why it's so important to identify these people and target them with the appropriate messages.

That's great. These efforts really need to be discussed more by his administration so he can get the credit. Many in the Long Covid community are unaware of these efforts. These are the types of things that could really help bring these voters back.

I also have no doubt that the GOP would be and is worse for people with Long Covid. But there are people in the Long Covid community and disability communities who are utterly suffering and feel abandoned. How do we help those people and get them to vote?

My spout was in reference to today's Senate hearing where there appeared to be bipartisan support for Long Covid funding. As I mentioned in a different spout, I think it's important to identify and understand those who Biden has lost so we can get them to change their minds and vote for him in Nov.

I understand that you may feel it's a problem to discuss where Biden has lost voters. I, on the other hand, think it's important to identify and understand these people so we can bring them back into the fold. There's still 10 months, and I hope to change their minds and get them to vote for Biden.

Talk about it. He's never mentioned Long Covid. Or at a minimum, have his CDC Director talk about it. She's silent. Work with Congress on getting permanent funding for research, like he's done for cancer and Veterans. From the hearing, it appears there is bipartisan support for LC funding.

That's got to make voting more challenging for those who work, are disabled, and/or have family obligations. I'm in Oregon where it's 100% mail in. It makes voting so easy.

Dr. Al-Aly's testimony was great. The only one to equate preventing Covid with preventing LC. Also, his acknowledgement of ME/CFS and the failure of not researching other post-infectious illnesses. I would love to see his vision funded.

Really appreciated the bipartisan support (it's so rare). I didn't appear to be partisan; more like interest was based on if they or someone they loved had LC. Cassidy and Marshall seemed to support funding, improving access to LC care, and faster treatments. Hope this means more $.

Whether the polls are right or wrong at this point (still so early), I hope that Democrats focus on getting the youth vote out for local, state, and Congressional positions. Even if they don't like Biden, I think many will still vote for him if we can get them to the polls.

I've seen it buried in White House press releases and long speeches but not a main part of his messaging. I hope the Biden/Harris campaign make it more prominent. Unfortunately, the GOP is using the increase in poverty against Biden even though it's their fault, not Bidens.

I'm in multiple chronic illness groups and it's so disturbing the discussions that take place because of the lifting of mask mandates in hospitals. People must decide how life threatening the situation is for themselves or their child as to risk getting Covid (which could kill them) at the hospital.
