As someone who has moved hundreds and then thousands of miles from my whole family and my friends, it is not something you should expect anyone to do. My family suuuhhhcks, and it was still isolating and scary, even leaving aside the expense. My guess is that people suggesting it haven’t done it.

Two days ago, it was -45ºC/-49ºF in the wilderness around my cabin in the Yukon, with the wind chill making it feel like -55. Nature was stunningly beautiful. I went outside and danced Bhangra. However, it was so cold that my camera froze. For two days, I couldn't turn it on.

A lot of people say the lockdowns & virtual school hurt kids. But I have so many friends/relatives of all grade levels, who did better virtually, because the stress of violence at school, was more stressful than not having social interactions.

Strange that there were no protestors outside my doctors office when I got a vasectomy.
I didn’t have to navigate any local laws or travel out of state.
