Hey all! I'm Eric Smith. During the day I'm a literary agent representing award-winning and New York Times bestselling authors. By night, I'm an author who is none of those things. But hey, I'm trying my best. Follow along for publishing advice, tips, and the occasional self roast. #Introductions

Took in a stray pup on 1/2/23. He was starving and pathetic looking; but has quickly rebound and became one of the fam. Say hello to Ruggles. Amazing what two months of love can do.

Already feeling this, though I'm not particularly old! I generally think it's good that I tried some careers out before I started writing seriously, but boy do I get hit with FOMO whenever I read about teens and early 20-somethings getting their first book deal.

My most recent one took me 20+ rounds of revisions over the course of 2 years. I queried it twice over the course of 8 months within those years.

Timeline for my first novel (wip) feels that way so far, but mainly because real life limits writing.
I imagine there's huge variation between the first novel and all the ones that come after it.

Hi Olivia!
Sorry to hear of that unkindness.
Sometimes, I think, people forget there's an actual human being on the receiving end. Hoping you don't allow the harshness of how they responded to resonate for too long within you. 😊

It's always about how they deliver that critique. I'm sorry.

This sounds heavenly! I have more to do than just writing (alas!) today, too, but I also plan to get in at least a brief writing sprint, just to keep my hand in!

Later today, we will push an update that will fix notifications and also force everyone to log out. Simply log back in to resume spouting. After we push the next update, the stability issues with that platform will be resolved, and we can continue focusing on fixing the bugs you have been reporting.

❓- I am doing a thing. I’m finally writing the piece that I’ve been formulating in my head for the last decade of my 14 years of my experience as a woman in medicine. It will be in a poem format. Tips on coaching/feedback as well as ideas on where to submit? #WritingCommunity #writers of #Spoutible

Finally done counting! Not including today's words, my current WIP sits at exactly 29,998 words! That's a third of my target word count, but I estimate I'm only maybe 20% through the story, so I'm probably going to blow past that target. Oh well! I'm having fun, and that's what matters. #amwriting
Kerry Share @KerryShareI'm drafting this WIP longhand. I'm on my second notebook (the first one got damaged by water, rendering the last half of it unusable), and I still have no idea how many words total I've done so far.05:00 PM - Feb 11, 2023
I think today's project will be to tally them all up. #amwriting #longhandlife

Always exciting to join the #WritingCommunity on a new social platform! But, who am I kidding, the most exciting thing is snagging the username you want.

40k words deep on a new manuscript. Submitting a new story for publication. Signing contracts. TL;DR, today has been a good day. #WritingCommunity

Last Weekend I managed to get through my whole manuscript. I hadn't read this story in about 6 months, so it was refreshing my memory, and checking the necessity of scenes.
Here we go again. This time I'm checking for filtering that has snuck in.

I keep thinking today about the writer who told me last night that they only write projects that might be able to be published. I dunno, to each their own approach, but that seems awfully limiting to me. #amwriting

Hey #WritingCommunity , they finally let me in! I’m a #YAfantasy & #speculative #Author with an upcoming release coming later this year. I’m so glad to have a new platform where we can connect & talk all things writing! Oh, and chickens. I talk about them a lot, too… #5amwritersclub #8pmwritingsprint

I write fantasy and science fiction for teens, kids, and adults, and am best known for my Bones of Faerie trilogy. Hi fellow writers! #WriterSpouts is the best hashtag I've found so far--chime in if you know of others. Or, you know, just say hi back!
