Although AI technology is amazing, we need new laws to prevent the widespread misuse before it is too late.

With reproductive rights and recreational marijuana use on the ballot in Florida, Republicans in Florida are about to go through some things. Now, Republicans will have to spend more money they don't have.

Remember how we were all defeated and convinced democracy was over when the Mueller report went nowhere?
Biden beat Trump anyway. By a lot.
We can do it again.
Don't give up. That's what they want.

Mastodon suffered a data breach at almost the same time as Spoutible. Mastodon is in repair mode. Is Elon Musk paying a bad actor to attack Twitter/X competition?

Christopher Bouzy @cbouzyThere is a lot of misinformation about the security incident; here are the facts.09:32 AM - Feb 05, 2024
1. Troy contacted me at 12:31 AM EST.
2. I emailed Troy about the data at 2:27 AM EST.
3. At 4:07 AM EST, I notified Troy that we had patched the vulnerability.
4. We sent an email to everyone at 9:45 AM EST.

Journalists and pundits will need a new narrative about Biden's "low enthusiasm" after New Hampshire. You don't win by 30+ points as a write-in candidate if you have low enthusiasm.

Trump isn’t on the ballot in Nevada because he didn’t file.
Trump isn’t speaking in court because never agreed to the reasonable terms.
Trump and his inept band of ball lappers are the reason this all happened.
He’ll claim he’s being silenced.
But in reality, he’s stupid,

To be fair, most social media platforms are slow to introduce new features. Just look at Twitter pre-Elon. Threads is moving fast because they want to replace Twitter, and Zuckerberg knows it needs more features. We introduce new features regularly because it was always part of the plan.
Casey Wagner @CannibalHolidayBluesky's lack of development feels like it's just a sinkhole for VC money, by using name association.04:33 AM - Jan 06, 2024

There’s a part of recovery from abuse and other issues that involves re-acclimating oneself to a healthier environment and not relying on toxicity, drama and abuse to feel like you are “alive”. I got used to it on the bird corpse and noticed this process when I came here. It’s better to be here.

You know, whenever I hear someone (especially someone that's loaded or in a lofty position) prattle on about Greta Thunberg and how she should get a "real job" or how she can't complain 'cause of her lifestyle, I think I have a question of my own for them;
If you have that much time, money and...

Steve Marmel @MarmelI hope #KateCox is getting the care she needs.
I also want to make sure we all don’t forget #BrittanyWatts who is standing trial for the crime of a miscarriage.
This is all Gilead level sh*t and none of it should be happening.05:32 AM - Dec 17, 2023

I know in our clout driven culture having all eyes on this site and being a major media darling would be nice. But honestly I just want this place to build actual connections. For people to want to be on here because its safer and more fun. Stable success is better than instant.

1. I post more here than on Twitter, so your claim is false.
2. Many of my posts on Twitter link back to here.
3. I post mainly about politics on Twitter to attract people here.
4. Each time I go "viral" there, is new users here.
5. No one said Spoutible was perfect.

I just think it should not be understated how amazing of an accomplishment Spoutible is. We have so many new features in a matter of months. This has taken other sites years to accomplish. And they are REALLY listening. Go cbouzy and your amazing team behind the scenes! Simply awesome!!

In 2024, Democrats will need a platform to organize. Democrats can't organize on Mastodon, Post News, Bluesky, or Threads. So that leaves Twitter, Facebook, and Spoutible. Where do you think most Democrats will end up? This is just the start of a very long race.

This was tried already and failed because of the decentralization and complexity of Mastodon. Part of organizing on social media is also recruiting, and Mastodon makes that problematic. How can someone organize and recruit on Bluesky when it is still invite-only?
Susan A. Kitchens @susanOn what basis do you say that Dems can’t organize on Mastodon (or other apps)? I don’t follow the premise.03:39 PM - Aug 13, 2023
It’s entirely possible that one or more Dem party orgs could create 1/more Mastodon instance. Some news orgs doing that. Or just establish presence there on existing server.

President Biden demonstrating why knowing who does what, what the law is, and how to call out a bunch of inept, unserious nilwits engaging in performative bullsh*t all while failing at their jobs on a global stage succinctly and with poise is what 81M of us voted for.

They say "folks want a community" no folks want big follower numbers sadly. Because if they wanted a community they would find it here. Since coming to Spoutible I enjoy talking to people again. Its been nice to want to log onto social media, even if its distracting my creative work.
