Thanks for letting me know you saw this. I didn't think that was cbouzy's style either. But I was beginning to wonder as engagement has definitely dropped off on this platform.

While I vehemently oppose Biden's support of Israel, I will nevertheless vote for him if he is the Dem nominee. His handling of Ukraine and the economy has been better than anyone could expect. But we're fooling ourselves if we think he hasn't lost the election since Arab voters will stay home.

I worry too about the funding for Ukraine. We need to pass that ASAP. But I feel conflicted because I don't want one more dime to go to supporting Israel's genocidal destruction of Palestinians. I wish we could pass Ukraine funding on its own.

Biden won Michigan by 156k votes. Arab voters comprised nearly that amount, over 140k by some analyses. So it is close. https://www.jadaliyya.com/...

I've said the same myself as recently as a couple days ago. But I've reached a breaking point with Biden's blind support of Israel's genocide of Palestinians. And its clear that Arab voters in Michigan will now not turn out. Biden has lost Michigan. We need to pressure Biden/Harris to step aside

Hmmm. This is tough. On one hand, I'd say, let gas prices rise and force us to transition to renewables, EVs, etc. On the other hand, do we risk recession and the electoral consequences of that with TFG winning? A second TFG presidency would be the end of American democracy.

F*ck Jill Stein. And RFK. And any other 3rd party candidate. A vote for anyone but Biden (or the eventual Dem nominee) is a vote for TFG. And while I have deep disagreements with Biden's support of Israel's genocidal actions against Palestinians, I will vote for him and encourage others to do so.

I would think the risk is that people will not vote rather than switch to vote for TFG. Still hurts Biden's chances. Especially in a state like Michigan.

The combo of Biden's bad polling this week and the Dems' good election day showings indicates that the administration's blind support of Israel is costing them. The Dems need to put a stop to US support of the genocide of Palestinians or they will lose the 2024 election and put TFG back in office.

💯 agree with you. Only parenthesis because of the constraints of the platform. On a broader basis, Israel's actions only echo the terrible US "war on terror". But the specific IDF justification for yesterday's attack that killed hundreds was so different from the surgical Bin Laden raid.

I agree that most Americans (including me, I will admit), did not think of the impacts to Iraqis or Afghans when we launched those wars that we all now recognize as very ill-advised. I did have some friends who wept over those invasions though. And I'm glad we're seeing Palestine differently now.

Why are the Gazans called terrorists and the Israelis are not? Israel has oppressed Gaza for decades, keeping 2 million people locked in a very small territory, completely dependent on them for all utilities.

The Tulsa massacre was sadly not that long ago. Many bombs fell on America long before Tulsa even existed as a city. Francis Scott Key referenced bombs bursting in air in the Star Spangled Banner, about the War of 1812.

I've literally never heard of weed making someone violent. Quite the opposite effect. In fact, there would be a lot more violent crime without weed.

Manchin is from WV - there is no other Dem who could get elected there. When Synema was elected, AZ was red, so we were lucky to get that seat too. They are not the problem. We need to get other Dems elected so that we have enough to not worry about Manchin and Synema.

This is indeed a great success story. But it also highlights that construction projects don't need to drag on as long as they do. I've always wondered why it takes years to do what seem like relatively modest projects when ambitious rebuilds can be completed in weeks.

And 500 refugees lost off Greece getting scant attention in comparison and little rescue efforts in comparison. Might even be an understatement to say that they were willfully left to die.

Newsweek is click bait at this point. That was a hard to follow article. Wasn't clear if the pastor was actually saying Christians should be suicide bombers or just making the analogy to fervency off faith. That pastor did sound like a nutjob though.

Steph and Lebron *first* played in the playoffs in 2015. But then again in 20w6, 2017, and 2018 - all in the Finals when Lebron was on the Cavs. This will be round 5 between the two all time greats. Amazing that one of these old lions will be back in the conference finals again.

Golden State Warriors fans can relate. 73-9, all time best regular season NBA team in 2016, up 3-1 on Lebron's Cavs and lost the Finals at home.
