Interesting. My sister and I did not experience much PMS and we are 59 and 60 and not officially in menopause yet…though surely soon.

I feel more angst over Duolingo, where I spend an hour a day trying to maintain my top rank within the mini-league in which I am placed. It was relaxing initially, but no longer.

When I started investigating Medicare reimbursements on behalf of my own family members, I was shocked to learn that dementia care is not covered. What do people do if they don’t have children to care for them? It is insane.

Ugh. Florida colleges are going to have a tougher time hiring now. Who would want to go through the hell of tenure track and going up for tenure is it doesn’t really mean awardees earn tenure in a conventional sense?

I say #StreamIt . The actors are talented, the songs are pretty good, and the plot, though spoiled by the give-away of the ending in the first two minutes of episode (weird choice) is credible.

I recently read this book with a group of teens. we read the original version (as shown in your photo), not the abridged young people’s edition. I had worried that they would be bored by the very detailed accounting of historical events, but they valued it as well as being profoundly shocked.

The article says 54%, which is still outrageously high. Few people read enough challenging, extended material beyond their school years to maintain high levels of reading ability. We should all aim higher—-my goal is 100 books a year, minimum,

People who are cavalier about risk of #LOngCOVID are playing Russian roulette with their lives & livelihoods, My beloved father was disabled by #LOngCOVID & it robbed him of several years of productively writerly retirement—eventually leading to his death. Underestimate the danger at your peril.

Thank you. Dad had a great life until COVID-19. I just wish his last months on this earth could have been less difficult. Many people are cavalier about long COVID, but having witnessed it’s destruction firsthand, I feel compelled to sound the alarm. Caution is absolutely warranted.

I work with many students who experience differences/disabilities and whose families have had to battle nonstop with public schools in order to receive appropriate educational services. This SCOTUS ruling will make schools work harder on behalf of students with IEPs. That’s a win.
