No NACS. Just CCS and CHADeMO.

I just report, I don't make the decisions.

I link to the video at the end of the newsletter. It's fascinating to watch. The subsurface water in Arkansas is saltwater. There's another project on the Salton Sea in Calif., that's using a similar method as ExxonMobil - so maybe the seawater opportunity is easier for them.

We'll know when it's officially closed, but GM has first dibs on all lithium that comes out of that mine (from an earlier investment.) And they'll need it all to make sure its U.S. vehicles qualify for federal tax incentives. Functionally the answer is almost all of it will be for cars in the U.S.

Agreed. It's something to behold. But people don't buy cars for the day or the month or even a year. They buy for five or six years out and they don't want to be the last one in their group buying gas and paying for oil changes. They buy an EV with a look forward.

As far as the environment, Zero tailpipe emissions are better than any tailpipe emissions. Not sure what you mean about working 2X more. EVs and gas cars are almost the same in price. Plug in your EV when you go to bed & it's fully charged in the morning.

I tried shopping at dealerships, but car salesmen never wanted to discuss EVs - or they jacked prices so far up over MSRP that it seemed like they intentionally tried to steer me toward their ICE inventory.

Appreciate the point. Fippant maybe, but justifiable. Trump is 77, his physical appearance has been uneven, he publicly speaks gibberish. His public look has been a priority. He just won Iowa.

Biden had marks on his face from skin cancer & CPAP mask. He answered questions publicly, justifiably.

It has to get easier, I agree. It should take no effort. I have enrolled my EV into their no-app program, which allows me just to start charging as soon as I plug in, and they bill my card directly. It saves all the steps the app makes you take, but you do have to enroll.

That's always a threat! GW Bush, the first was up around 80 percent approval in the polls after the first Gulf War. Then we had a recession, and he became a one-term president. After being up to 80 % approval!

But I think Biden is in a better place & most infrastructure spending is still coming.

Understood: Women's rights are being squeezed. SCOTUS is turning black the clock to the 1940s. Millions reject objective reality. There is still a lot of work to do.

Part of the piece I linked to, toward the end, shows that there are suddenly a lot of EVs coming into the used car market, and they are selling quickly. There's really never been a used EV market before. Also, new EVs are now priced the same or less as new gas cars. Writing about that next.

Oh, yes. If the business with his mother's house is true and he failed to disclose it, he should be indicted. Totally agree. I think Democrats should file articles of impeachment. Let Republicans defend him. But the amount of damage he is doing, and will do, is incalculable.

If they indicted Thomas (not sure he's violated an actual criminal law, but still), Thomas files a motion to dismiss. He loses but appeal. Loses another appeal. Finally, it goes to...SCOTUS, which has a 6-3 Republican/Conservative majority. His potential to ruin the judiciary is virtually limitless.
