Used the "scissor sharpener" notch on the knife sharpener this morning. Wow! Freshly sharpened scissors are NICE! Also, reminder: do not run with scissors.

Read the WaPo article paralleling US R's with the Tories. My thought is the Tories are lucky that they will hit bottom and rebuild, while our R's will keep some level of power thanks to gerrymandering and chicanery so will not reinvent. We are poorer for it.

I have no reason to be surprised that I see no perspective or context for the situation in the Middle East. The US is undereducated. If fixing the M.E. was easy, it would have been done by now. Oh, and IT'S NOT OURS TO CONTROL. But, hey, shutdown schools and stir up shit. That's better. *sigh

hey, here's Friday's post: "this Supreme Court is making my fucking head explode — again." any sane SCOTUS would have quickly slapped Trump down.

I listened to that 2:40 circus of oral arguments and was so frustrated I wanted to cry. We are a Republic and we DO NOT HAVE A KING. Even in their Article II powers, if what the Pres does is illegal, there is recourse but the default is NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

TFW you have to add window film to the bottom foot of the closet mirror doors so the radar maps will stop showing you the creepy pocket dimensions you have attached to your home. *shudder

Listening to SCOTUS oral argument for "Moyle v US" and I'm unsure. Idaho is arguing that State Law can override Federal Law. That's probably how they lose, but knowing the right wing will pretzel themselves to restrict abortion further, I don't know what to expect.

I am a little confused by the expiration date on a sleeve of Everything Bagels. Is that the day they stop being bagels or the day they stop being EVERYTHING?

Right now seems like a good time to remind everyone that Donald Trump’s first impeachment was for withholding military aid from Ukraine until he could extort its president for dirt on Joe Biden to sabotage our election.

I am an optimist by nature and recognize the long curve of history is towards justice. That said... things like "any trial, but especially a guilty verdict, means he loses" paired with parts of House R's actually voting against his wishes? That looks REALLY promising.

I see someone do something. It was unkind, or inconsiderate, or just plain mean or stupid. I start to react. My brain reminds me of times I've done the Exact Same Thing. I try to forgive. If possible, I speak to them (PRIVATELY) to explain what happened and what I thought. Maybe it helps?

Given: you can't NOT think about something. You have to think about something ELSE.

Corollary: you can't NOT make a joke about something. You CAN say "I'm not making a joke about that." Repeatedly. Snarkily. LOUDLY. Into the face of the would-be joke target or subject. :|

I am so used to the (very poor) coding behind business websites, that when something doesn't work - I immediately switch to a different browser and try again. DDG fail? Try Firefox. Fail there? Safari or Chrome. Annoying.

Bothsiderisms are almost universally incorrect - since facts, taken in the appropriate context, almost always define strong/weak positions or right/wrong scenarios. There are NOT two strong sides or two right decisions - and to think so is missing some context.

How upsetting it is when my Apple devices don't work together correctly is a testament to the fact that such behavior is not normal. Hours of updates and configuration changes to get my new watch to stop randomly locking itself and requiring password entry? UGH! *sigh

I have listened to SCOTUS oral arguments for years and probably hear them differently than a new observer. This morning I heard a number of holes in Colorado's disqualification of Trump from the ballot.
