I'm familiar with the case, amd the officers should lose their jobs and face charges for it. Also, it doesn't relate to Presidential Immunity.

Are you talking about the Capital Officers who were killed on 6Jan21 or more broadly about other illegal abuses of local authority (to respond to which mechanisms do exist)? My spout was focused on SCOTUS' possible willingness to create a new Presidential power out of thin air.

I'm never (OK, never say never) going to vote Republican again, but I want the Democrat(ic) party to be strong - which means we need a respected opposition. Infighting is not a good thing and without another party, that's the driving angst.

And, yeah, things like interviews with all of the R's who worked against Trump last year, now lining up behind him to campaign for him... THAT is symptomatic. Hey, R's, if you want your party back, you have to let him and the pieces that will fail with him fail - then rebuild, but he has to go.

My thoughts: fines for the violations brought today; larger fines for the next set; then, time (an hour per violation?) in the holding cell down the hall from Merchan's courtroom and a warning next be at Rykers. TFG's actions need consequences but yes, do not risk helping the appeal.

Listening to some podcast yesterday, I lost count of the times "unprecedented" was said. That "may you live in interesting times" curse? Not sure which of us it was aimed at, but holy crap did that work!

Oh, and only hours later the watch started randomly rebooting - and the diagnostics showed a failing processor. It was behaving erratically because it was a lemon. Replacement is being shipped.

I started with my News Settings really full but as each site does something obviously dishonest, intentionally misleading, or so unfair as to make my head shake... UNCHECK that source. (Today? LA Times' healthcare article *FROM 2009* poking at D's for removing the public option from the ACA)

The same perfectionist tendencies and insecurities I coach others thru stop me from publishing more. In my drafts, I put a list under the title: dates for "idea, draft, edit, publish, revision". The goal is to get from idea to publish QUICKLY. If it matters, edit and publish a revision.

Partly that, yes - seeing others do it is easier. Partly it's recognizing how much of an impact it's having (i.e. "yeah, I saw it but it's not that bad" self-delusion).

From a DM: "and if as additional renewable production comes on line, how does that change the usable life of the already in place fossil fuel systems - needing to meet only peak/trough demand until battery tech and grid management improve?"

We've done two solar projects on our house - back first and then smaller footprint front. If the sun is up, we're producing electricity (more than we consume, actually, thanks to window upgrades and appliance replacements). Batteries don't ROI yet, but they will in a few years and will do that then.
