I think they had the impression that adopting this far-right narrative (ultra-nationalistic, war on “woke”) would resonate with the British public.

Thankfully, no one seems to be biting. Which is the biggest relief for me.

Yes, it's up to them to really push those policies.

I don't agree with them on everything. Odd things here and there, for instance their position on HS2 is completely non-sensical.

But miles better than Labour right now!

I agree, they need to completely re-think how they market themselves. And given the state of Labour, they are missing a huge opportunity.

However, looking at the results this morning, the Greens and the Lib Dems have done exceptionally well so far.

It can’t be just down to voter ID!

Apathy between the two major parties too, I reckon 😕

I live in Manchester Central, Piccadilly ward.

Went straight after work (got there around 4:45pm) - which you would think would be the busiest time, and there were literally 3 people in the queue ahead of me.

Thanks! I started with the first two seasons of Discovery, but wasn’t a huge fan of the second season so decided to re-start with TNG, and I’ll work back/forwards depending on how retro I’m feeling 😆

I think you are right, but I keep hearing this idea that we will see an influx of younger people when the app drops.

I’m not sure that will necessarily happen.

Let me ask you, would you welcome more younger users, or are you happy with it being mostly Gen X and older?

I think it depends what your definition of ‘younger’ is. If we are talking under 25 year olds, yes that’s true.

Twitter seems to bridge very well across most age ranges. Imo, for Spoutible to reach it’s potential, it also has to appeal to older gen Z and millenials.

That’s true. But I don’t think you can compare what is meant to be a new, emerging platform to something like Facebook.

Facebook is from a different era.

Very true! Generally people who I have spoken to have the same views as I do, but say they’ll wait a little longer and take a look at it after it’s grown a larger user base.

The mainstream media will always present reality through a conservative lens. Don't reckon that'll change any time soon.

The only way is to build our own alternative media platforms. And keep pushing from there!

Thatcherism, which we still haven't shaken off.

It's a neoliberal thing where the success of a country is measured by seemingly infinite GDP growth.

Unfortunately, high GDP doesn't necessarily equal a happy, prosperous population.

I mean even GB Energy just seems to be another provider, and all Rachel Reeves has committed to doing is keeping energy prices at their current levels.

I mean, what's the point? The lack of any ambition tells you a lot about these people.

At this point, I'm not even sure what we are supposed to assume are actual policies, because I see them referring to them as "pledges" and we know how that turned out last time.

But I honestly think this is straight down the centre at best, there is no socialist aspect to any of this.

We’ll see what happens if they can maintain their support after they win.

Rachel Reeves isn’t offering anything substantially different to what we have now, so when people realise nothing has changed and the Tories get their act together, we might back to square one.

I agree but I don’t think we should all bend the knee and suspend all criticism of dear leader.

Especially with how much he’s already lied to the membership. The dishonesty reeks and it will be used against him.
