the federal minimum wage is way overdue for an increase. it should be at least $15.00/ hour. future increases should be automatic and indexed to inflation/ cost of living adjustments to bypass a dysfunctional congress. same with SS cola. also need to scrap the cap on SS tax.

It's my understanding if people read the constitutional conventions and the debates they had at the time, the founders did not want a 2 party monopoly. Even though they can be messy at times, I think multi party parliamentary systems function better.

That's why I'm registered independent. I'm a progressive, not a democrat. I have to vote for the democrats because the vast majority of republicans are fascists who make me vote for the democrats, and the 2 party monopoly system we have.

I couldn't agree more. Ranked choice voting would be great to have nationwide. But the powers that be don't want to lose that power. And as far as incrementalism, we have big problems that require big solutions incrementalism only prolongs the status quo.

I don't have a problem with people voting 3rd party in primaries, and in non battleground states but unfortunately we do have a 2 party system and in most cases have to vote for the lesser of 2 evils for the greater good. I wish it wasn't so, but it's what we have for now.

It makes perfect sense if all he cares about is money, and power which he does. I know a lot of people say it's better to have him in that seat than a republican, but is it really? Debatable.

We're way to far out from the 2024 election to be paying attention to polls. Our election "seasons" start too early, and drag on too long. Not to mention I'm not so sure combover Caligula will be the gop nominee. There's more indictments coming soon. Hopefully high turnout will be bad for the magats

Like Thom Hartmann says, libertarians are just republicans who want to smoke weed, and get laid.
Or like John Fugelsang says, libertarians are just embarrassed republicans.

Because some people think when other people get rights, they lose something. They live in a zero sum game world. They don't understand we all win when we all have the same rights.

No legislation was passed, it was a executive order, and is currently being litigated in the courts. I don't think it should have been done by executive order, but here we are. If we had a functional congress then debate and compromise would be the proper path. IF...

You own it is in reference to being a dick on this subject. Even though refinancing isn't currently on the table, it should be considered. As well as free public & community college. Compromise is how democracy is supposed to work. Neither side gets 100% of what they want.

At least you own it. I think you'll find your opinions in the minority. What's wrong with compromising, and refinancing instead of forgiveness? If the bankruptcy laws hadn't been changed to favor the banksters I doubt we'd even be having this debate.
