When you are complaining about the school budgets in your state and counties, take a moment to research if your state is doing this.
They are cutting the budgets for public schools and giving the money to private schools. These are schools your child will probably never be welcomed at.Elections matter

I wish people would wake up to the fact that MAGA/GQP is just like the mafia charging street taxes to enrich "the families" wallets

Florida passed a $4 billion transfer from public schools to unaccountable private ones. A lawmaker said, “I’m one of the millionaires who will get a scholarship.”

We had to permanently suspend someone for anti-trans rhetoric. If you spout anti-trans rhetoric, there will not be second or third chances; you will be suspended permanently. This is not Twitter, and you know the rules.

Land Escape 2: Passageway, Acrylic on Watercolor Papers, 22x15ins., 2017.

This is the full work that I used for my Spoutable profile and banner. It's one of a series of four works depicting the moon rising over the plains of Monument Valley at different times of the day, in this case evening.

Exactly this! 👇🏼

I’m so happy to see the younger generation join us.

Let’s be the house it’s safe to hang out at.

Love,
April 💛

When I first became a parent I said that I wanted my house to be the place all my kids’ friends came to hang out because it would be safe and they could just be themselves. I’m excited that this place can be like that for internet kids. Let them be their loud weird selves but we keep them safe.

I have eaten exactly two bites of a pawpaw, from the backyard of a fellow farmer when I was working in Western Mass. It was enthralling. I can't even explain it. I have dreams of starting some here in NH, but we're just a little too far north until global weirding catching up with us.

It’s an illusion to think we can make any major progress in this country without getting corporate money out of politics. It is the root of all evil in Washington.

A little shameless plug for my debut poetry collection, The Last Weather Observer, in case any of my new Spoutible friends are interested in checking out the link in my bio. The US launch of the book was in New York back in December ‘22, & I hope to be back over for more readings. #poetrycommunity

Glad to hear NPRNews is taking the adult-in-the-room approach over msm's chronic circusy-horse-race one. I hope this means they've found their moral compass again.
Rick Garrett @ricktgarrett
Mary Louise Kelly, NPR: “On a day of wall-to-wall Trump coverage, NPR is taking a different approach. Yes, we'll cover the news. Yes, we have reporters at the courthouse & Trump Tower. But we're covering lots of other news too, and we will not air Trump's speech live.”

There are many ways to judge a country. Look at its economy, its military or its education. Examine the soundness of bridges or smoothness of highways. Instead, maybe we judge a nation by a simple metric: the number of weeping parents it allows, the small caskets it tolerates. - Essau McCauley
