There's a level of bullying on the bird app that too many now accept as normal background noise. There are some accounts that do nothing but. Sometimes I can't even tell what side these aggressors are on. I suspect some have no true side, but are just thrilled for any excuse to get their sadism on.

FYI: If someone replies to your spout and immediately blocks you, their recent spouts to you are automatically removed. This tactic is often used by trolls on Twitter to abuse and harass others, but it doesn't work here.
