#dailypicturetheme #skill

This hat I crocheted for my granddaughter took more patience than skill. I started out with a basic hat pattern, then decided it needed to go over her ears, so I added the flaps & braids, then pompom.

I think she looks like a Cabbage Patch Doll. 🥰 #crochetersofspoutible

#Skill beyond my comprehension is on display in this sculpture, “The Veiled Virgin” by Giovanni Strazza from the 1850’s. The #skill to craft solid marble into soft folds of fabric, let alone the transparency of a veil, is fathomless to me. #DailyPictureTheme

Quick Spoutible Observation - A lot of the folks here were lurkers, not heavy posters on Twitter. As such many didn't engage much. The heavy posters are used to that love language. Thus, in order to attract/keep us, many will need to speak that language. That's the only way this site grows/flies.

Put another way: when you can take the “neutral” stance and debate “both sides” about others; rights, then you’re in a position of privilege.

Be mindful if that. Not all of us can afford to be “neutral:” we’re fighting for our rights.
Professor Kyle @blackcatprose
Fellow white cishets...if you're all "We have to hear what both sides have to say" when one side is threatening someone's right to merely exist...you're doing it wrong.

White men especially - they are allowed to “snap” and we are supposed to understand that we’re actually “good” men who succumbed to pressure from work or heartbreak or whatever the particular circumstances that they found less than ideal.
Chance @Chance456711
Have you ever noticed how mental illness is used as an excuse for violent behavior when it comes to White people but mental illness is criminalized when it comes to BLACK people for the same acts.

📢Now that threading is live, I am happy to announce we will be adding Collaborative Threading soon. Up to four people will be able to contribute to a thread, and just like with standard threading, each spout will be automatically numbered and arranged in chronological order.

Ok, people are posting cats and I don’t have one. However, here’s a wild koala I took a photo of a couple of weeks back. It’s #koala breeding season atm so they’re on the move. They’re normally nocturnal animals so to see one move so quickly during the day is amazing.

I don't get it. Someone said they "wonder is there anything else going on" besides politics on Spoutible. I went to Explore & these are the 1st spouts I saw (with 1 political one). About music, fashion, academic writing, poetry, Mondays... Curate your timeline & you'll see your preferred content.

Great article by Ross Gittins about the rate of Jobseeker payments. Seems a no brainer to me to ditch stage 3 tax cuts and raise jobseeker. Reckon doing both would also be less inflationary. Do better ALP. #auspol

This an important one. 46,000 people are shot to death in America every year. My friend @fredguttenberg knows this all too well. The lies of the gun industry make it harder to address this epidemic of violence that they profit off of. Please listen. #NoRA

I scream the benefits of my library card from the rooftops. I use it as a blockbuster for games before I buy. You can do genealogy, get audiobooks straight to your phone, music, dvds, BOOKS, tabletops games for the nerds out there. Apps- Libby and Hoopla USE. YOUR. LIBRARY!

Retired librarian here! If you’re frustrated by news source paywalls check your public library website to see if the library subscribes & offers it FREE to all registered borrowers. My public library subscribes to NYT & WSJ. Just one of the many perks of having a library card.
