Some veterinary hospitals choose (and I think pay for) it to be distributed to clients. Not all of them do.

It seems they do. Our house is pretty old too, and we haven't been able to afford to replace ALL the windows yet. We do them as we can for better efficiency.

Gotcha. I'm so sorry. 16 is really good, though. Mine will be 10, 9, and 6 this year. The last dog we lost lived to be *almost 16, so fingers crossed.

Holy crap. I write about vet med for a living, and I didn't realize about the off-gassing and all that. So scary! I hope your puppers will be ok.

Fingers crossed you're beyond frost! We're SO lucky that we don't really need a/c here, but we're pretty strict with the heat in winter. Our thermostat is set at 65, and we turn the heat off overnight. We also have a good fireplace though, so that helps in the living room in the evenings.

Ugh. And the newer ones are MUCH harder to treat vs the old kinds of poisons.

Wow. Our electric bill doesn't even get that low in the summer in CO, and we don't have A/C. Our April bill was $256, and the one I just paid was $177. We've had a long/cold winter extending into spring. Just 29 degrees here this morning. Brrrr.

Thanks. We went through a time in my 40s where everyone I loved was dangerously or terminally ill, including siblings & husband & best dog. My mom was my *only parent. She was just 69 when she died. We also lost my MIL in 2012, so my hubs and I have been completely without parents for a while now.

As much as I miss my mom (she died in 2013), I'm so grateful she didn't live to see TFG because it would have absolutely destroyed her emotionally.

I wrote about this for a national veterinary magazine because SO many young veterinarians get locked into non-competes that basically ruin their lives / careers. I think this is excellent news. Thanks for sharing!

100%. I always felt I was strong with good balance thanks to a lifetime of yoga (and recently more pilates). Thankfully, I can avoid our full stairs at home for now since most of what I need is on the main floor. My mom fell a lot and NEVER broke anything. Always hoped I inherited strong bones. 🤷‍♀️

OMG. Go, you! I haven't tried a full set of stairs on crutches (or otherwise). Our house hallway is 1 step up, and we have 2 steps to get in/out of the house, but that's it. The slip/fall really shook my confidence, so I have to concentrate and go slowly. Hubs having to do laundry / downstairs.

Thanks so much. It's a discouraging slog, and I keep learning in new ways just how bad the injuries are/were, but I'm taking the recovery in small chunks and focusing on what I CAN do. Too easy to get stuck thinking about all the things I cannot do. Living on crutches long-term ... not easy.

My prior generation of dogs knew I wasn't keen on whining, so they learned to stand behind my office chair and blink their eyes or smack their lips loudly. 😂 On deadline once, I spun around and called my very old dog a lip-smacking MFer!

That's SO great. Keep up the excellent work! I'm running into a lot of "I won't vote for T...., but I can't bring myself to vote for Biden." 🙄 I try to count that as a win since that's all it would take if Biden's prior support holds strong.

We kept our 1st -ever foster puppy. He had 15 fractures (all 4 legs, hips, tail) & spent most of 2019 here. Adopters kept falling thru & got too hard on my heart. He looks *good here (3 months into our care). He looked much worse at first.
