@cbouzy has given us great tools to manage our community. Why do we need a bot to prejudge a person for us?

The thing is the public view of it. I can see your 14% that a bot gave you and it may give me a preconceived idea before I even interact with you.

Publicly is the key word here. It will impact behavior and feels a bit like social control.

This is a new site, new things will be tried and they will change and adjust. But it is something to not shrug off but to watch closely. Even if @cbouzy has good intentions, others may like to normalize this for not-so-good intentions.

Every site is using bots to judge behavior. That is the only way to monitor a community. I think making that number transparent to all feels like a type of social control.

But you and I are currently chatting about this. We may disagree (or not), but it's a dialog. I would love to have dialog around other issues that I don't agree with ppl on without feeling a bot, ironically, is judging me.

The whole adult content thing was ridiculous to complain about. That is standard on all main sites.

It's both the known and the unknown that is concerning here. It is transparent - I can see you have 10%. The unknown - why exactly do I have 4%? How will this impact behavior on the site - the social experiment of it? The feeling of an overload. It really makes me uncomfortable.

Perhaps have transparency in what exact behavior impacted the rating. Maybe flag the content for the person so they know that content just impacted the rating. Sure 4% is nothing - but there is literally nothing that I've done disruptive. Honestly - I am not comfortable with this rating system.

I can do that for some people that are not worth my time, energy, or attention. Even if people insist that person is a danger to us all, I don't focus on the person, just the actions I can take. For others, that I am closer to, I focus on the good and really hope some things are just a phase.

I have worked in social media since 2005, but really don't do hashtags on my personal accounts. I just roam around until I find someone interesting. Keeps things diverse and interesting.

I read somewhere that a guy started giving people a thumbs down instead of the bird in traffic and that it had a much more profound effect on people. People shrug off anger but internalize disappointment.

It always throws me off. I have 2 boys (28 and 22) who know everything important from the 80s (music, movies, politics, cartoons). In exchange, they keep me up-to-date with everything important of today (music, movies, politics, games).

I grew up in Miami but lived in IN my 7th grade year. I returned for the first time in over 24 years a few weeks ago for a funeral - not much had changed.

I have seen Trombone Shorty live and in the front row about 5 times. I would love to see Paul McCartney.

I just poured half a bag of peanut butter chips and a quarter bag of dark chocolate chips in. I used the same amount of butter. This is me cooking.

I used this one, but added the chips and made them as muffins, not a loaf. The baking time was about 45 minutes. https://tastesbetterfromsc...

Ya know. I don't think I'm a big fan of Soul, which might explain it. I like Etta James, but was introduced to her through Jazz.

My husband and I are fortunate enough to be doing better now than our parents did. I know that I have lost some touch with what it is like to be where I once was, which gives me the ability to really know that those who have never been lower income are really out of touch.

$6K is not much money for "those parents." It is less than what they paid for curtains in their house.
