In the Wired profile, Brendan Koerner wrote, "I often felt like I was spouting into the void." I decided to compare his recent spouts vs. tweets and only compared spouts I did not echo. So with only 570 followers on Spoutible, Brendan's engagement was similar to Twitter's, with 12,467 followers.

So even with considerably fewer followers, significantly fewer active users, and no algorithm, Brendan still received similar engagement to Twitter. I would also like to note Brendan hasn't tweeted since last year.

I would love to see an honest assessment of Spoutible and her community vs. Twitter and other alternatives. I look forward to reading a piece from a journalist who will write about what we got right, what we got wrong, and how we can do better.

Honestly, what you and your team have done here is nothing short of magical given the time line...let's stop seeing this as an alternative to the the bird site (or constant comparisons to it), and let's promote it for what it is - a fresh, unique, way to be on social media without the hate.

I have more followers on the bird and almost no interactions.

On @Spoutible I have met a diverse group of people and have a lot of engagement, but I am proactive.

We protect each other here.

Sometimes it is good to just LISTEN to someone else experiences and hopefully learn something.

My only criticisms are (1) that I wish it were easier to see who i follow who follows me back. Don't want to carry a bunch of dead weight around the pod (2) wish there was a way to use hashtags without my normal score going up

I raise my hand to help organize + host a digital event that covers these topics. Organize panels, livestream a rollout, plus generally discuss the overall reset that social media is experiencing.

Spoutible feels next generation in ways that other platforms don't.

I think it'd just be cool to write about the Spoutible community and what a joy it'd be to join. There's always going to be some comparison to other platforms, but I don't think that should be the point of the article. Highlight what Spoutible is doing and how excited it makes their users.

I'm not a journalist or an expert in social media or tech but I have found it much easier to interact with other people on here. The only reason I still go on the other one is the specific people I have been interacting with for 5+ years, many of whom are not here yet.

new user: I feel like the engagement here is authentic, I feel confident that users are real people, that it feel like a community instead of a gauntlet for like mining, Tone is positive and leans extremely educated. I’m not bombarded by porn and bots, or advertising.

demographic leans 35+.

Regarding demographic- age - as 35+ - this is a superpower. We know what it means to be social, engaging, & use the golden rule. It would be nice to attract a younger demographic where we could positively influence their social media experience AND have more content creators.

more global users too

In my personal experience, my engagement here is much higher. I'm just a random user. There was definitely a huge spike on the launch date (#FirstWave) , but even after that I personally notice a difference.

I think right now the main thing I'm experiencing is relative homogeneity of membership. The politica community is huge; there's some good discussion about types of soup, as well. I think it's a question of numbers. My other interests aren't going to be represented until we have 2-3x more spouters.

I’m looking forward to notifications for my favorite content providers here on Spoutible. Example, @tristansnell prosecuted Trump University and provides a legal perspective on current events. I miss his content unless I go directly to his timeline. I’m grateful Tristan has committed to Spoutible.

Honest feedback isn't easy when every criticism gets dog piled by your fans. Engagement isn't great here compared to some other platforms and I'm putting a lot into it. Spouts get bounced around like a beach ball at a festival for a while, then disappear forever. Hard to build long term engagement.

It’s interesting (and I literally mean interesting) that you criticized something but view criticism of your criticism as dog piling rather than individuals each providing their own critique of your criticism. It could be viewed as the start of a conversation.
