So true. My therapist is always reminding me I'm actually much stronger than my abusers because I'm getting help for my trauma and working on my issues instead of running from it and pushing the pain onto others (especially not pushing it onto innocent children!!!)

In my experience they just don't (at least not in the more metaphorical way). Quite a few of them actually totally hate themselves and then take it out on everyone else. Somehow, I don't really feel sorry for them. And thank you. It was awful but I hope some of what I've learned can be helpful.

Because of my history with childhood trafficking I have unfortunately met a huge amount of men in powerful positions who have not a single ounce of compassion and even though I've spent so much time around those types of people (some women as well) I will never understand them.

Honestly the longer this scotus horror show goes on the more I wish I could just get a hysterectomy. I have no interest in having kids to a phobic level. But I'm "too young to make that decision" or whatever. It'll sound naive to say but sometimes I just wonder why these people hate women so much.

Thank you! It really could work out. I've just been burned so many times it's hard to be hopeful. But I am quite disabled and I do actually need the help. I have a wonderful advocate who is going to be helping me with my needs assessment. It could go really well!

I just don't know what to do because CPS often either doesn't help or makes things worse, and also I think while what this particular parent is doing is awful it's completely legal.... I'm glad you are someone who cares about kids. I need to be reminded there are people who care.

if I get a visa where would I live? How would I get there? I'm broke. + there's a thing in the immigration process where they have to decide if your medical issues would be too much of a drain on the CAN health care system and since I need to be in assisted living I'm worried I won't meet the limit

I've wanted to move to Canada for years but have no resources to do so. :( I hate it here so much. Being trans and disabled here is a nightmare!!! Just want to spread awareness of psychiatric abuse in the US hospital system. No one talks abt it I think bc of layers of stigma.

Yeah it's absolutely not like that in the US :( I have PTSD and dissociative identity disorder and I was treated horribly. No one has a clue how to deal with flashbacks and they blame you for having them. I was sexually assaulted by staff at multiple hospitals. I know others who also had that too.😞

Some of the most amazing people I've met were other patients I was with. Speaking of vets, I met a very sweet Vietnam vet with schizophrenia and ptsd and they would not give him his medication, making him take a different one that was making him ill instead. He'd been there for months!

Yeah, unfortunately my psych ward experience wasn't supportive or stabilizing.... the extreme opposite. just a lot of being forced to hide all my feelings and being afraid. I ended up with more trauma than I already had. I hope the situation improves. But thank you for being non-judgmental ❤
