In Germany you get 12 months paid parental leave, 15 months if it's being shared between the two parents. Obvs there are also legally guaranteed paid sick days.

This is a much more sensational article than what was reported in the German news. The guy is known to be mentally ill, he suffers from delusional disorder.

Jeez, wasnt there just something that Air Canada left the wheelchair of the company's accessibility officer at the departing airport? Doesn't seem to be isolate incidents....

Calling spouts tweets is not being rude. I didn't see him being rude about the platform but could see he was getting annoyed with people telling him how to run his SM accounts. He creates a lot of content and truly engaged with ppl. I can't imagine the work of doing that on 3 separate sites.

And so were others. Unprovoked. Just because he didn't use the threading function. It felt embarrassing tbh. Maybe just keep scrolling if it's not your cup of tea? Spoutible can't survive on community alone. You need content to grow. Many content creators take a look here and leave.

These obnoxious Spouties are really getting on my nerves. What happened to "don't like something just keep scrolling"? They don't get that Spoutible won't survive on DogsOfSpoutible and SpoutingClassics.

If you want Spoutible to survive, it'll have to grow. It won't do that on dog pictures and #SpoutingClassics . You ned content creators. Tomi was a big account on Twitter. Even if you don't want to read his stuff, you should be happy he spouts here instead of being mean spirited.

I only saw a few spouts but they weren't welcoming, they were disrespectful. Some people on here feel superior because they are on this "cool site" and it's annoying.

Instead of auto threading you can also click on the + sign next to the "spout off" button when writing a tweet/spout. It'll start the next tweet/spout that's part of the thread. Once you're done with the thread, hit "spout off" and it'll number automatically and post everything.

Ramsey County MN (4B) although it is probably more 5 by now. Salt spray is a consideration at close to the curb. Current thought: an area with more spring/early summer blooming natives like Wild Columbine, Golden Alexander, Jacob's Ladder. And later blooming like Short's Aster, Elm Leaved Goldenrod

I am really excited. It's the largest planting space I have (we have kids and a ridiculously sized play structure for the size of our backyard). It's full shade due to the boulevard trees but shade gardening doesn't have to be all hostas.

I only have a teeny tiny city lot but I'm trying to do my part. Smoothing the lawn to plant native landscaping next year. The other side closer to the house was done this year.

Could there be a future feature where you can have your timeline just show bluechecks. And then you can toggle back tob show everyone. Sometimes I am mostly looking for ways to make sense of if the world, other times I want to be diverted by songs or cat pictures or whatever.

What is that in people? This inability to hold two truth at the same time when they are not neatly linearly connect. It makes them loose their humanity.
What drives that? Superiority complex? Fear?

But doesn't that hide all echoes? I would love to see echoes just not 5 of the same in a row. Only show me an echo if it isn't in my timeline for the last 100 spouts or something.

I would like to see a share button so I can easily save articles etc to Pocket vs having to click 5 times for each article.

Huh.. I sat with that for awhile. I'll pay attention to whether it's actually a time issue (too much time lost scrolling) or if my brain
has just been conditioned by social media to expect continuous dopamine hits and I feel annoyance if that doesn't happen.

Echos aren't bad. I know zero about programming but if there was something like "only show an echo on the timeline if it isn't in the timeline already for the last 100 spouts" or sometime like that.

Right, but I want to see some because I might not see the original spout, just not 5 in a row... This might be close to an algorithm, but I actually also don't think algorithms per se are bad. It depends on what they are designed to do. What if it was diversity of content vs engagement?

I wish there was some sort of mechanism that the timeline doesn't show 3-4 echos of the same thing right after one another. That's why I don't always echo when others have already done so. I bookmark and think I'll echo later but usually forget. 🙃
