Did she really tat with crochet hooks, or was it with tatting needles?

I have tiny crochet hooks and do crochet lace, as well as tatting needles for tatted lace.

Lace making definitely isn't as practical as deck building, but it is still fun.

It is complicated in some ways, and not in others. I like that every string has its place and I can look at the different strings and see what comes next. I am just learning, so I don't always have the tension right and I make mistakes, but it is still fun.

The guy was carrying a guitar (or at least a guitar case).

I went home and looked up if any of the local theatres were performing the Sound of Music or something, though I'd hope actors would have the sense to change out of costume.

I don't know. I was driving past on a busy street, so I couldn't stop. I thought about circling the block and trying to approach the person (or even just get a picture, because it seemed so unbelievable to me) but I wasn't able to.

They're worried about teachers talking about sex and they want to hang a sign that says "thou shall not commit adultery" in elementary schools? I know that is the least of the problems with his suggestions, but I find it funny.

Yeah. I think that is why hearing about it unnerved me so much. He was pretty casual telling me about it, and in my head I just though... oh, yikes. It doesn't help my other son is also autistic and somewhat more likely to get upset when strangers talk to him.

This point is so important: "They need to understand that there's a large segment of the country who thinks differently & come up with a way to deal with them."

There often seems to be a lot of hostility around acknowledging that a large segment thinks different.

Sometimes I wish social media forums had little questionnaires for when you unfollow someone. Maybe a multiple choice option to tell the person why you stopped following. It is probably a bad idea, but it could help reduce some of these lingering questions.

I've even started doing corsets. The chemise I'm wearing in this picture has crocheted lace at the bottom similar to what my cat was helping me with.

This is one of the outfits I've done... it needs some work because I lost weight since making it, so it doesn't fit right here.

I will try to remember to. I don't actually have anything in the works to attach this one too. I was testing a pattern, and then I got carried away with it, and at some point I'll use it.

I was making a strip of lace trim, which I will probably attach to the bottom of a white underskirt or chemise. Over the past two years I've been learning to sew my own clothes. I've done beadwork on heavy wool skirts that need underskirts to be comfortable.

That is important! Once long ago I went to interview pro-lifers and pro-choicers and do an article about common ground. Afterwards I felt some pushback on that because I realized the place I was writing for didn't want common ground, only to promote one side.

Hello! What kind of weaving projects do you do?

I do some weaving, sewing, crocheting. The picture is from when I was teaching my daughter finger-weaving.

I want to learn lace-making. I'm telling myself if I get five of my in-progress projects done by July I'll buy myself lace-making supplies.

The thing is, putting one's own mask on first is a very concrete definable thing. One knows when it is done. Conflicting needs when parenting are harder. A person could focus on their own needs for ages and never get to helping the child with their needs. Children's needs can't always wait.
