They always raise gerrymandering, which doesn't impact statewide elections. No one has ever proved that voter suppression makes much difference.

These people live in states where the majority repeatedly votes for very ugly shit.

They choose to stay.

So yeah, the fingers point at their neighbors.

A richly deserved win for them. I stayed up to watch the last third of that game. Glad I did.

Every year, the really capable teams advance to play mostly great playoff football.

And Dallas goes back to recriminations.

At least you might get some warning. I was told the day after the school year ended that the hypersecretive bosses at a former school had been sitting on a 25% enrollment drop, then decided to lay off the most recent hires.

I did get to watch most of THEM get pushed out or leave too the next year.

As long as the TV deals and salaries keep going up, the rest is just background noise in business terms. The NFL is a juggernaut with a long history.

This crew was demoted out of the playoffs. I don't expect anything more.

"Do this or we'll stop watching" has never worked.

The ref involved here wasn't at that meeting; Campbell just bulldozed through so many steps without being methodical.

The refs will never get it all right. The tripping call in Dallas in the previous drive was literally nonexistent according to the tape.

The best coaches cover every angle anyway.

It's ironic that people flock to the Sunbelt for "opportunity" when that now means the opportunity to live a strip mall existence and get screwed by the state if you don't toe the bright red line.

Sooner or later, a break drain will begin and pick up speed from people like your son.

There's literally no argument one can put in front of them that will change their sentiment about this. The smart politicians will get that. Most social media folks will continue to whine that they just don't understand the big picture.

That's why smart politicians find a way to get elected.

Never worked there again. Thank goodness. Best thing that ever happened to my teaching career.

Yup.

Having grown up in the South's suburbs with lots of small town relatives, they didn't used to admire ugly haters. They genuinely looked up to people who lived out the virtues they claimed to believe in (no talk of segregation, of course, but that's them).

Now they idolize the opposite.

I never said he didn't break laws, try to break more, and now hopes to break 100x more than that.

He's a delusional fantasist and always has been.

Sure, he's a threat. But his actual power to do anything is a tiny fraction of what he claims. It's just a lot more fun to react to his literal words

He can't do it anyway. Agencies like NIH are funded and mandated by Congress.

Like Trump, Haley, RDS, and the rest, they make up shit they know is impossible because their voters are too stupid to know otherwise.

This would alienate libs and moderates and pull the MAGA morons without a doubt.

In many places and social circles, those who cloak themselves in religious righteousness literally get away with horrible crimes for decades or centuries.

Because they're "holy" they get a pass or pay a small penalty in the worst case. That sentiment is still widespread.

It's simply too important to be left up to arbitrary individuals. Like all good rule of law issues, it should be carefully argued and litigated. Otherwise, it will become as dumb as impeachment has.

It's a sad but common phenomenon. Ironic too that political consumers know so little about that is served to them.

Exactly. It's a formidable tightrope to walk, but if she can pull it off, she is well positioned for 2028.

She will be competing with plenty of ambitious young Dems like Newsom, Buttigieg, maybe Whitmer, and so on. No one is going to just cheer her into a nomination.

In the 60s, civil rights were all about "radicals," then in the 80s, government spending was all about "welfare queens" followed by Willie Horton ads, then on and on and on.

Today's Republican party is the natural culmination of the last 60+ years. The idea that it's only "MAGA" is clearly wrong.
