I also don't think "the community voted on this" is a response of any worth. It's hugely impacted by sample bias, and it's a cop out to say that the hard policy decisions were decided by a particularly vocal set of early users.

Seeing a lot of *very* weird culty posts, too. Like Elon 2.0 up on here. Currently, I’m 50/50 on staying. Definitely not recommending Spoutible to my friends anymore—not with its current culture.

"Love it or leave it" is just so binary and dumb to me, more worthy of MAGA. I got blocked by a few folks yesterday behind this for questioning if there was a middle road. But the community and @cbouzy said otherwise, so I accept that I'm outvoted. I still believe in this place just the same.

My take away from what happened yesterday is that if you're critical of an aspect of the site and the owner puts you on blast the vast majority here will label you a troll.
I think my views were in between yesterday and even I also got blocked and or unfollowed. 🤷🏾♀️

the saddest part about all this is I saw people supporting this place, throwing cruel insults and slurs and I truly wonder if they were dealt the same level of authority as some others suspected of harassment and bullying.

Yes. The left hand and the right hand. I think people should be treading carefully and genuinely engaging to resolve conflict on here. We are trying to correct the mistakes that led to the downfall of social media as a universal public space. Rules are important, but discussion is too.
