My workaround—I toot on masto.ai & manually spout a link to my 🦣toot here on Spoutible, w/ 2 links:
1) a bitly link that works
2) the mastodon permalink that does not (Spoutible strips out the @ character before masto user name, breaking outbound links to mastodon. Reported that bug 9 mos ago)

Unfortunately, until we add more data centers, there isn't much we can do about lag. I am a few miles from our data center, so it loads nearly instantly for me. In 2024, we are adding a second data center in the Midwest.
