The NY governor cannot replace a sitting Congressman or appoint a replacement if the seat is vacated. Congress will first need to expel him, and then there will need to be a special election. A governor can appoint a Senator until a new election.
Heidi Hafeken @HeidiHafekenNo. NY Gov would appt a Democrat in his place.10:32 AM - Nov 16, 2023

This is so deep, right, because it lays bare the different territories we occupy in America. As that was happening to your family, literally spoon fed voting, people were fighting tooth and nail to preserve their right and to even have candidates that reflected them.

Note to asshole Republicans posting specific food pictures to complain about the cost and blame President Biden: the internet exists, people can look up the actual cost to underscore what a lying shithead and drunk you are (most of the $78 went to booze, not food).

Former President Donald Trump has urged fellow Republicans in Congress to shut down the government to thwart the federal prosecutions against him, although any funding lapse was unlikely to stop the cases from being pursued.

Makes sense .. do the building janitors need to wear suits?
STEM TheBleeding @STEMthebleedingMy 10 second take on this:11:01 AM - Sep 21, 2023
Events can have dress codes.
Buildings should not.
If a senator wants to sit in their office wearing shorts and a hoodie, or yoga pants and Uggs, it shouldn't matter.
Save the dress code for CSPAN (ie the floor).

Walgreens near me is offering the #Flushot & #Covidvaccine ; but only the Flu shot was available this morning as they ran out of the new Covid vax. That’s good to know that people care enough to get vaxxed. Hopefully the covid vaccine will be back in stock soon. Got my flu 💉 though.

Every single time I hear someone bitch about government I ask, "Do you vote."
I am still amazed at the large number who say "NO" and justify their inaction as a form of civic pride.
Just vote people. Just vote.

Thanks for the reminder. I would also add, that some local County Health Departments have stock that are available for free in their office. You simply show up and take what you need, so highly recommend checking that out too.

We should probably take note that automakers are moving away from security features like an actual key...
While security experts with computers are moving toward having a physical key...
Expect auto theft to get worse... it's a sales tactic, clearly.

In 1890, the X and Y chromosomes were discovered. It was found that the men who were tested had 46 chromosomes, including an X and a Y, while women who were tested also had 46 chromosomes, including 2 X chromosomes.
