But the problem was that the candidates DIDNT reflect them, or have their interests at heart.

They had an R after their name and they had the GOP endorsement.

That was all that mattered.

That's why it's so tough to pierce that bubble, because those families don't WANT to think of politics.

No worries. It can be slow, and it doesn't work for all links, but what I do is

Wait until I see a screenshot of the link

That's worked every time for me.

The funniest part about it - is that the FOOD wasn't expensive. $17 for a burger and fries, or about $1 more than you'd pay at Five Guys.

It was the $50+ of alcohol he used to wash it down that was expensive.

The last time we ever spoke was when they found out I voted for Clinton, and when challenged about it, I explained that because she had the "conservative" values that they told me as a child were important.

Honesty.
Empathy.
Compassion.
Humility.

Whereas Trump has none of those.

"No I don't want to have an abortion" is a choice.

Yes, I do want to have an abortion" is a choice .

"No, I don't want ANYONE to have an abortion" is force, not choice.

Fair point, and one I think they got castigated with by the left in order for them to claim that Dems are the conservative party.

From a policy standpoint, it makes no sense.

But the far left is more concerned with revolution than they are advancement, so ...

This is true, which is why when it comes to those who are personally against abortion, but think you should also have a choice, they tend to vote Dem.

Hence, the anti-abortion Dems.

That's the point, everyone is pro-choice.

The question is who are you pro choice for? Yourself, or everyone else?

And the closest Dems ever got to making this point was Hillary Clinton's "safe, legal, and rare" comment, which was politically brilliant, but because it was Clinton - it was bad.

Largely because the Dems won't support them any longer.

One side is now pro-birth, and the other is changing their rhetoric to be pro-abortion.

So those who are pro choice in the traditional sense (aka individual rights) are on an island.

But individual choice won for Dems in the bible belt.

More common than you think.

They realize that just because they would choose no when it comes to an abortion, that you should be allowed the same opportunity to choose for yourself.

Senate was full of them in 2009, then they got purity tested out in the 2010 primary.

If they treat them badly, and you well - it's you whose having a show put on for.

This isn't new, either.

Conservatives were the Tories during the RW.
The CSA during the Civil War.
The ones who opposed any and all progress made by mankind - either out of fear, ignorance, or malice.

Their party name has changed from time to time, but the drive against advancement has not.

I grew up in a conservative household too, and the one glaring thing I remembered was how little thought the GOP wanted their voters to put into voting.

We would literally get a sample ballot marked with the party preferences, and a letter saying how as "good patriots" this is how we should vote.

Anyone who calls the modern GOP "conservative" is either wishcasting, or lying to themselves.

There is not ONE conservative aspect left in the GOP.

Even the GOPers of Reagan's era wouldn't have a home in this shitstorm of a party, and they were assholes.

But they're not asshole enough for MAGA

Closest I can come to it is from my time in the military.

If I was out on base or working, I had to wear the uniform of the day (Senate floor)

But if I'm in my office after hours or the barracks, no one can tell me not to wear PT gear or civilian attire. (Senate office/building)

Good point regarding the LHCs and their supplies.

Also, even if you're seemingly healthy, it's not a bad idea to test before you get your booster, because it+COVID could cause a strong immune response.

I'd bet my MS that most of the "vax injuries" were actually undiagnosed COVID injuries.
