The whole damned music industry is broken. I have no idea how to fix it but I know we'll all suffer when artists aren't able to make even a modest living.

Yeah, I wasn't real clear. I referred to the feud, for lack of a better word, between Biden and A.G. Sulzberger, chairman of the NY Times. Sulzberger, it sounds, is demanding bad coverage of Biden because only they are worthy of declaring Joe fit for office and Joe hasn't given them an interview.

So true. I spent (wasted) so much time with water stones. When I started using jeweler's rouge, it was like finding the holy grail.

Back in the days when I sharpened wood chisels and plane irons I finished them off with a buffing wheel and jeweler's rouge. They were wicked sharp.

I hope they have some good Salzberger/Times jokes queued up for him. Now that it's out that A.G. is so hurt about it. If he keeps up the hissy fit, he looks like the small one, which he is.

Plus, he reaches people wouldn't necessarily consider Biden, or really even consider voting. Hearing him on Howard Stern's show could well spark something in them. It was a no-cost way for the campaign to reach potential, non-traditional voters.

I haven't listened to Howard Stern in years, but I understand he's much more sedate than he used to be. Almost mainstream. Anyway, if it pisses off Sulzburger and the Times, I say good.

I got half of my seed potatoes (King Harry) planted today. I'm a potato junkie. Once you've grown your own, grocery store spuds are just a disappointment. I went to the garden center and they don't have onion sets yet or they would have been planted today too.

Using a shock collar isn't training a dog, it's torturing a dog. No wonder it was aggressive. Imagine what aggressive assholes we would have turned out to be if our parents trained us with electric shocks. I guess it's meant to appeal to those who use blanket training and beat normal, curious toddle

Once I had some lumber laid out on the lawn and some bumblebees fell asleep on it on a frosty morning. It was really neat watching the bees wake up. At first they wobbled like they were in a drunken stupor. Then they looked like they were shivering. Then short hop flights and finally flew away.

I'm still skeptical about hydrogen as a motor fuel, especially in an internal combustion engine. ICEs aren't good at turning fuel into work. Most is lost as heat. Fuel cells are expensive. H2 storage is a problem Green H2 is energy intensive. Better to use that energy to charge batteries for an EV.

We let our dandelions go and we seldom see bees on them. We let them go because we're not going to use herbicides to get rid of them and we're too creaky boned to pull them.

I've read a bit of push back on dandelions and bees. It said that at the same time as dandelions are blooming that there's a lot of tree pollen available and that pollen has higher quality proteins. IIRC it came from Michigan State U. which has excellent horticulture and apiary departments.
