I caught these unearthly mammatus clouds west of the Kimball NE area just after sunset on Fri 6/23/23. They were generated by a severe storm complex in far NE CO. Image (c) Robert Henson.

Today I wrote few new words, but I leveled down a chapter book I'm working on, so yay, me!
If anyone here writes for kids and wants help determining the reading level of material you're working on, I recommend this tool. https://readabilityformulas.com/free-readability-formula-tests.php

We good. 👊🏼🫶🏽 We have exceeded every single predicted metric so far. I will take stable surefooted growth over a dumpster fire any day. ✌🏼🐳

@Spoutible likely has steady, healthy practices built for long-term growth.

On topic: Sometimes the first impression isn't the full picture. Our focus should be to have a lovely and nice spoutible community. If you shift the focus to massive grow than you need other tools. It's always about the focus and the priority. I don't care if it grows, I care if it stays nice&lovly

I am raising 3 teens/young adults, and there is NO DOUBT in my mind which of these lists my kids have been "mature" enough to handle over the years. Additionally we've discussed:
- Consent
- Bias
- Privilege
And they vote!

Joel Shulkin, MD @DrJoelShulkinWhat teens are "mature" enough to do (according to the GOP):08:57 AM - May 02, 2023
-Deliver/raise kids
-Buy or use firearms
-Serve in the military
-Work
What teens/young adults aren't "mature" enough to do:
-Discuss homosexuality
-Use contraception
-Read about racism & diversity
-Define their gender

"In humans, facial expressions are a major—if underappreciated—form of human communication. And recent research shows that a variety of animals, from rats to dogs to horses, also make facial expressions that clearly communicate how they’re feeling."

Joan Baez then and now. She was only 15 years old when she first heard King speak and made it her mission to become a civil rights activist. That was in 1956. She’s 82 now and, here we are in the same fights😞

EVERY decent and uncorrupted Republican should renounce their party membership now.
An honest review of what’s happening across the country and in the party reveals the deep, widespread and growing extremism, delusion, corruption and profound threats to all of us, our democracy and our planet.

Got caught in a bit of rain on an alpine trek. As we hiked we eventually noticed there was a bee tucked under every flower along the way.
The bees had all taken refuge and were napping off the rain. Completely still. Each one. A whole meadow of them all napping in tandem. 😁

This photo was taken three years ago today. My young son was with me at the time and said, "COVID-19 can't stop the flowers from blooming."
I know it seems silly, but that statement was beautiful to me. Simple and direct. In a way, a message of hope.
Never underestimate the power of simplicity

I share Justice Burger’s view about the dominant misinterpretation of the second amendment, which reads:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Thats it. That’s all of it.
