In the early 1900s, after having studied art in Rome, Sironi began painting in the Neo-Impressionist Divisionist style. He saw Expressionist works during visits to Germany between 1908 and 1911, but mainly stayed in Rome from 1909 to 1914. By 1913, Balla, Boccioni and Severini had developed a new style—Futurism—which Sironi also adopted for a brief time, although his work showed little of the characteristic Futurist exaltation of speed and modernity. In 1914 he exhibited with the Futurists at the Galleria Sprovieri in Rome. Works from this period include several abstract tempera paintings entitled Composizione futurista (1915), a series of paintings of airplanes in tempera or tempera with collage, and several paintings of lone cyclists or motorcyclists.

My guess is the "expert" opinions largely are based on polls (many of which are commissioned by the GOP to skew overall averages) and "vibes." I won't panic unless aggregates of polling and special elections start going badly the wrong way.

Lastly, Biden and the Democrats raised $100 million at the end of 2023. The narrative that Democrats are in trouble is just simply false based on the data and the facts on the ground. If turnout is also low in New Hampshire, then it could be an early indicator that Republican enthusiasm is low.

Very nice modern studio photograph of a metal cat sculpture. It is stylized and almost cartoonish but in an artful way. It is made from steel that is blackened and decorated with delicate gold ornamentation. The steel seems matte at first but closer examination reveals it is beautifully detailed with fur texture and floral designs. The cat it in a half- standing sort of crouch, looking upward with a somewhat humanoid face, as if begging for food from above.

The Assyrian Empire fell before the combined onslaughts of Babylonians and Medes in 614 and 612 BCE. In the empire's final days, Nabopolassar (r. 625–605 BCE), who had been in Assyrian service, established a new dynasty with its capital in Babylon. During the reign of his son, Nebuchadnezzar II (r. 604–562 BCE), the Neo-Babylonian empire reached its peak. This was largely attributable to Nebuchadnezzar's ability as a statesman and general. He maintained friendly relations with the Medes in the east while vying successfully with Egypt for the control of trade on the eastern Mediterranean coast. He is well known as the biblical conqueror who deported the Jews to Babylon after the capture of Jerusalem.
During this period Babylon became the city of splendor described by Herodotus and the Old Testament Book of Daniel. Because stone is rare in southern Mesopotamia, molded glazed bricks were used for building and Babylon became a city of brilliant color. Relief figures in white, black, blue, ...
