What? @cbouzy advertised Spoutible on Twitter on an unprotected account. Anyone who wanted to sign up for the first wave was welcome to. He talked constantly about policies and rules. Polls were open to everyone on Twitter. The policies were set before first wavers could create a profile.
Matlock @keyofw
The problem with saying "the policies were voted on by the users" is that it was all us #FirstWave people, and #Spoutible selected for a particular type of user. If we want this place to grow, we will have to allow for people who are different from us, with different perspectives.

Not only that, but IIRC, the question about nudity/pornography was polled again, long after the site was open enrollment (maybe right after the Romancelandia dust-up) and was the same. I was mostly off Twitter, didn't register for First Wave/Beta, but I jumped in mid-February when I got the email.

Quality tops quantity. I don’t care who has the most followers or likes. Misinformation spread under the guise of free speech or “different points of view“ is accepted on Twitter and truth social. Spoutible is informative not hyperbolic..

I responded to the surveys, but I didn't have time to be on Twitter all the time to answer polls and participate in threads. I thought the surveys were the main form of making decisions on final policy.

Not only that, but there were public as well as emailed polls. Tbh, I was surprised that so many voted against thst content-I did as well. I've no issue w/sex or sw; I just don't want to do a search for news and end up with willies wagging in my face🤷🏻‍♀️ Simple.

That's where I'm at too! When I want to look at adult content, I know where to go.

I took part in some of the surveys, and I hope things will continue to evolve and improve. I would hate to see Spoutible not be a place to welcome the arts community, and I think @cbouzy probably does want to see arts thrive as part of the overall conversation. Things are off to a good start here.

I just read the rules, and they say that exceptions may be made for artistic and medical purposes.

I don't have a different perspective on this subject. I have a perspective that makes absolute sense in my life and I believe that the founder of this site makes absolute sense in why he set the user boundaries as he did. I support him.

Yes, that's the First Wave

You're conflating first wave with "polls to set policies were open to everyone to vote on Twitter." If you wanted a say you didn't even have to sign up for the first wave.

But everyone is welcome, you just can’t tell someone you hope they die or do other things that violate the TOS. That people self select is different than saying not everyone is welcome. I think you have a problem with self selection.

The guy who posted this content blocked me and that's fine with me. I think the sex workers and those who want to promote and support them are going to create their own subgroup on this platform. Eventually they will grow tired of listening to each other and they will leave.
