The govt should have asked SCOTUS if a president, as part of his/her official duties, ordered someone to execute 4 Supreme Court justices because he/she claimed to have evidence that they were Russian spies, if the president would have immunity.

oh, it's worse than that. These are rich people. They know. They don't care. For them, it's just the cost of keeping trump out of jail so he might become president and owe them favors, making them wealthier.

Exactly. Whatever problems people have with officials who have been in office "too many" years, they pale in comparison to the increased power by those behind the scenes who will be the ONLY ones with power because elected officials will ALL be overwhelmed by their inexperience.

Clearly, neither Gates nor Buffett have ever made anything a crime, they have never been in a position to pass laws.

Correct that other people cannot own the land that they own. But probably if they did not own it, large agriculture companies would.

Not sure how any of this makes them monsters.

Absolutely correct. I don't understand how so many people still don't get the fact that trump doesn't believe anything he says. He is just saying whatever might buy him another day of freedom, get more donations, influence jurors, or create the chaos that is his only chance to avoid prison.

No doubt First Energy in Ohio will get the $1.4B it wants. Remember, after FBI announced it had proof that it gave $60M in bribes to the Ohio GOP, the legislature never repealed the law they passed in exchange for that money. Ohioans are still paying to keep a coal plant in Indiana operating.

If such a law existed, Republican Attorneys General all over the country would indict the best Democrat candidates just prior to the deadline for declaring their candidacy. They would then drop the charges later, citing "new evidence".

What's interesting is that someone pretends to offer insight by comparing a "black lives matter movement" which is 3 years old to a civil rights movement that started in the 1940s and got the Civil Rights Act passed 20 years later. This article is just another form of clickbait.

It's not hard. You need tweezers, pliers, a flat head screwdriver, box cutter, ruler, masking tape, painter's tape, duct tape, a micrometer, and a bottle of love potion #9 . Once you assemble the tools, it's a piece of cake. When you're done eating the cake, open the puffs plus with fingernails.

the New York Times is truly pathetic. trump makes a "series of gaffes". Yet they make the story about Biden's age. Not that Trump is senile. Not that a hundred people who worked for him have said that he doesn't read, has limited vocabulary, and has a hundred other relevant flaws. But Biden's age.

I don't even think that would do it. Remember, Scalise got shot a few years ago. Means nothing. And even if an NRA meeting is shot up, there won't be calls for gun control unless the shooter is black. Otherwise their solution will be "more guns at the next meeting".

When anyone connected with a team gambles, it puts the integrity of the game in question. Professional sports will be hurt if that happens. Fans have to believe that it is not big time wrestling, that the people on the field determine the outcome, based on their abilities and preparation.
