Also, January 6 was NOT a “riot.”

A riot is when a crowd gets out of hand.

January 6 was 100% planned, premeditated, and managed by Donald Trump and his MAGA co-conspirators.

It was a conspiracy to stop Congress from verifying the 2020 election — it was an INSURRECTION.

Why is the spouse of an insurrectionist allowed to decide the fate of another insurrectionist? If the Supreme Court had any real ethical standards, it would bar Clarence Thomas from all January 6 cases involving Donald Trump.

Why did you say "enough with the white dudes" stuff to Andrea?

She's not the one who said it.

(By the way, it's "enough with the white dudes" when "white dudes" stop. AS A GROUP, ruining things for everyone else)

People who think they are not affected by Republican policies: do you not care about anyone else? Do you not want to live in a better society?

I’m 100% here for Taylor Swift being named TIME’s Person of the Year because of how much it clearly pisses off insecure men who find it unthinkable that a public figure adored this much by young women could be so undeniably powerful.

By the end of the year, I will have spent over $10K on psych-related therapy for my family.

Mental healthcare shouldn’t be this expensive.

We must vote for more Democrats and demand healthcare reform for mental health services.

Particularly grotesque when you compare the media coverage of just a couple high profile cases like JonBenét Ramsey and Gabby Petito.
This is the kind of coverage every missing person should get. Yes, even if it interrupts the the latest sport ball game or fake-ass reality show.

Nearly 9,500 Indigenous people have been reported missing in the U.S. since 2019. Over 5,400 missing and murdered Indigenous women & girls have been reported in the U.S. alone since 2022. #PleaseFindMe #RememberMe #NativeSpoutible #MMIWG2S #MMIP #DoubleStandards #MissingWhiteWomanSyndrome

I am Progressive in my views.
Probably more than would make most Democrats comfortable.
I have agendas I would like to see implemented.
But we will never see any of them achieved if democracy is lost.

In other words: to be an actual progressive, you *have* to vote strategically. As @FruitFacedFruitKace always says, you have to vote with harm reduction in mind. If you don't, you're impeding progress, not making it.
Professor Kyle @blackcatprose
Saw someone urge left-progressives to vote for Biden while voting progressive down ballot. Maybe you can do that if you're 100% sure a liberal will win. But if there's ANY doubt, it's vital to vote for the Dem./liberal candidate who will beat the R–if you care about equality & justice, that is.

Yeah, the "System" sucks sometimes for lots of people, but anyone who has studied revolutions throughout history would know that burning it all down and starting over generally only benefits those privileged enough to be fireproof.
Anton Brakhage @Anton_Brakhage
There is a generic "anti-establishment" crowd who may say they're on the Left, or on the Right, but are really just looking for a radical outsider wrapped in woo-woo and conspiracy theories to come in and wreck everything, and don't much care where they come from.

What's with the whataboutism and exaggeration? He voted in 83 along with many other senators on a Social Security revision. The later two items were changes that were on the table during negotiation. Saying that you would consider certain things during a negotiation is NOT advocating.

1984 is often cited as a banner year for the US economy -- giving Ronald Reagan a landslide re-election.

In 1984, unemployment was 7%, inflation was 3.8%, and GDP growth was 6.9%.

Today, unemployment is 3.9%, inflation is 3.2%, and GDP last quarter grew at a rate of 5.2%.
