After all those years of direct experience and observation, I *know* when I'm a little bloated, a little more emotional, and my blood sugar's a little higher than normal - on a pretty consistent monthly cycle. But sure, tell me that's not hormones.

It's amazing how much of the #menopausal transition is glossed over in medical school. As a doctor going through this myself, I have the same questions as you. Medicine is so very behind on women's health. If anyone is interested, I can post things I learn along the way. #inthistogether

Also, many symptoms are written off (for years) as "perimenopause," when they may have an entirely different cause.
The biggest surprise for me was that even after my periods stopped, I still "cycle" hormonally.

Yes please! I've had a few conversations back and forth with a few other people on here. But it would be great to have additional resources. Another one I've found, especially for active women, is Selene Yeager's Feisty Menopause podcast. She's another one really good for evidence based info.

My understanding is that gerontology (vs geriatrics) is the field that seeks to study, understand, and educate about aging. We do not hear from them enough, & they are not integrated into the arc of our health care needs.

I am learning to be patient ... slowly.
I have not EVER had a sick day in my life (well, apart from the flu, twice).
This has been a shock to my system but one I CAN benefit from (so long as I get better SOON!).

I can see how you'd think that, given all the awful shit he's done & not paid for. But justice works slow...and he's just now in his 1st criminal trial.
