I prefer the peace of mind I get from knowing my house won't burn down due to an electrical fire. Well worth paying a professional.

Very true. The ones who indoctrinated me thought Catholics were all bad and that's the same religion. In fact the denomination I was brought up in only has about 200,000 members yet thinks they are the only ones getting it right. I escaped as soon as I was able.

I blame hackers like wikileaks for convincing people that we have the right to know every little thing the government is doing. That's not how national security and international diplomacy work. Governments need to keep secrets and if we don't trust our leaders we should vote in ones we can trust.

I'm sorry for your loss. My wife lost both of her parents in 21-22 and it's not easy. I feel so lucky that mine are still doing quite well for my mom being 77 and my dad being 74.

Nice! My folks are super liberal hippies who love Jesus so they also find it very offensive.

I was just listening to Ziggy Stardust and the line "A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest And a queer threw up at the sight of that" always hits me hard.

Churches are hotbeds of sexual abuse. That's what happens when you elevate men above everyone else and never hold them to account.

True that but very few of us can afford to be 100% principled all the time. Having a high horse to sit on is a privilege.

My mom always told me she stayed to create change from within but she's 77 and hasn't seen it. What's really pushed them more recently is the hatred they get for supporting me and my wife.

My parents are actually really liberal hippies who love Jesus but because my mom was raised in the denomination they've stayed in it though as of late have really questioned why.

What a fun goodbye tour. I live about an hour south of WI. We had two nights in Manhattan and saw Hello Dolly on Broadway, another play at the Armory, and did MOMA so it was a whirlwind. I definitely want to spend more time there.

HA HA. I've worked for this guy for 24 years so I can put him in his place. In my early days I did once put a news article on his door with the headline "Assistant bludgeons boss to death with ashtray."

Thanks. If he wanted me to be rude to his business associates that would be one thing but to expect me to put my other businesses' associates on hold is another entirely.

The Met is on my list but the last time we were in NYC we only had time for MOMA. He really is worth all the praise and hype, Also as someone who has struggled with depression my who life I have so much empathy for him. I just wish his story hadn't been so tragic.

You really can't fully appreciate his paintings in reproduction. In person you can see the depth of emotion in every every stroke. The first time I saw his self portrait and one of his bedrooms at the National Museum in DC it brought me to tears.
