I wouldn't put it past trump if he started to ask around to see if he could fire pence and bring in a new vp just for the vote certification at that late a date on Jan 6, 2 weeks before being evicted from the people's house.

Ok, so what's the difference with this or if he rents cars when he goes to other states. Either way, he's charging the FL taxpayer. Just like he's charged them for his wardrobe, his meals, plane tickets, his pocket money, discretionary spending and so on.
All of it is bad so why's this a story?

One of the coolest things I've experienced was in a parking lot walking to my car. I heard a loud unusual sound behind me so I turned to look and it was a massive wall of rain coming at me. Stood there mesmerized as it got closer and closer and eventually hit me.

Dude can literally shoot someone on 5th Avenue with hundreds of cameras streaming it live, with police officers waiting in line to shake his hand, and GOP/fox/rw media would cover for him.

This country has a huge problem on its hands by letting him run free after his treason and espionage.

Was it after Rep Stacey Plaskett destroyed him by showing how he had his kids vaccinated, he makes sure his houseguests are vaxxed and so on?
I'm sure if he was able to still spew his lies without pushback, those networks would still be showing it.

We're the proverbial frog being boiled alive and half of us are the dog in the "it's fine" meme. Is there any one govt working on slowing it down? I mean at this point it's inevitable and going to end us but we still won't try or acknowledge it publicly.
What will it take??

Will never not amaze me that the same people who've hated on Facebook since 2015 are jumping ship from Twitter to there just because it's a lesser evil.
It's the same freaking evil packaged differently!
How have you not listened to yourselves for 8 years and learned anything??

Yeah. Imagine you and I having this convo strictly by quote spout or echo. It shows up on the public feed right? Imagine this site getting 20% as big as Twitter and every dialogue happening via quote spout for visibility. What would the public timeline look like?
Maybe I'm doing this all wrong here.

Sure I agree that's causing all the "retweeting" but that may be where you and I differ... i think it's a problem longterm cuz if we're just gonna "retweet" everything, and others retweet the retweet, where's the conversation?
Retweeting everything is basically giving it a like.

Also I explained poorly but didn't mean 127 actual echoes in my feed. That would suck.
I meant in the first 10-12 spouts on my TL, the counter at the bottom of each showing replies/echoes/likes? I did the math and counted 7 replies (so no dialogue happening) and 127 echoes showing regurgitation.

Yeah, it was a recently added feature. Its a good feature but it doesn't seem to save the setting as it defaults back. Might be a bug, might not. It's fine... like I said before, I've gotten used to the echoes showing up. But most new people trying this site gotta get annoyed by it don't ya think?

For ex, I just looked at my own timeline and granted I'm only following 60 some people (this is low primarily due to no dialogue happening w/in spouts), but in the first 10-12 spouts, there are 7 replies and 127 echoes!! It's like this all the time.
The ratio is worse on the public timeline.

Yeah probably. I do leave comments instead of echoes. It's still a growing site but I think changes will need made to algorithm eventually.

I'm here for the longterm anyways. Twitter is my only other option and it's a dying cesspool. Will never create an account on a Zuckerberg owned site.

The thing with echo spam is it doesn't foster dialogue like what you/I having now. To get engagement everything has to be an echo because nobody converses in posts.

On Twitter, I followed popular accounts but also people with insightful comments.
I ignored those who mainly retweet, ie echo.

But this is how they operate now right? They tell the media and the base it's a witchhunt, tfg and the Chinese guy are lawful people doing the right thing but being targeted by the criminal left.
They get no pushback.
When/if they get back in power, they can go after dems and they will. Count on it.

The thing I liked about Twitter when I joined 5 years ago was the content was pushed to me. From there I followed who I wanted and made my feed/algorithm work.
Here i try what you suggest and I just get spammed with stuff I don't want to see or non stop echoes of the same spout.

There's something to be said for engagement though. The thing I liked most about Twitter is any post (politics-education-entertaining-whatever) would have conversation in it. I never see that here, just people echoing incessantly for that engagement and no dialogue happening in it, unless its yours.

Blows me away how many on Twitter in the last day are praising threads and saying that'll be their new home. Including reputable, pro-democracy accts a lot of us follow there.
It's like they learned nothing since 2016 despite often speaking out about it.

You are not wrong. Would love to dump them all except Ms. Jackson and maybe Sotomayor.
At a minimum, there should be financial investigations for all of them, starting yesterday.
And criminal ones for a handful as well.

Yeah but it's trump so he'll probably get the benefit of the doubt when he appeals. And the reasoning probably will be along the lines that his lawyer messed up and they didn't quite know the rules and they were trying to comply by testifying but nobody told them how to proceed. Book it.

I had a debate with a friend after Biden won saying that dems will finally make Rs accountable because that's what the voters want more than anything. He kept saying nah, dems are too weak and won't do anything.
Either I read the main reason for his victory wrong or Biden read his voters wrong.

I think it's even simpler than that. She publicly disclosed this at her current age, he saw what she looks like now and said the first thing that came to his mind. His "not my type" comment had nothing to do with her looks when he raped her because back then she was most definitely his type.

Saw a video earlier where just the threat of a gun/active shooter at a girls HS basketball game sent the entire arena running in a state of panic in all directions. Everyone was freaking out.
Been saying for years this type of terror happening anywhere anytime is unsustainable. Yet it continues.

You're right it happens every day in America but it still is a shock to the system everytime I read that it happened yet again. Difficult not feeling something in the heart when such innocence is senselessly lost, even when you don't know them.
