I'll add that since he lives in Oregon, he already was registered to vote when he got his driver's license. So now at 17, he's had 2 opportunities to register. He obviously won't receive a ballot until he's 18, but this is how it should be done nationwide.

Giving someone an ultimatum usually never goes over well. Moreover, many of us are tired of certain individuals coming here and behaving like they have no upbringing, or starting unnecessary drama. There a lot of options if one doesn't like Spoutible, no one is forced to be here.
