yo, I wrote a thing: "dipshit vigilante truckers reach the border, shocked to find there’s no immigrant invasion" — a bunch of easily-conned dopes got played.

Hi Jason,
I had that as a goal a couple years ago and ended up exceeding it.
It’s amazing how quickly the books pile up when you make an effort to read each day.
What genres are you interested in?
Love,
April 💛

I wish you'd have at least two days a week where you did just that. Most of my favorite books were recommended by librarians.

With my work schedule, I set a goal of a book a month, plus a few more so, 15 a year. Unfortunately, librarians really don’t get to sit around and read all day.

I use Goodreads and Storygraph to keep track but the goal number is just an aid to that and not something I necessarily work towards. I aim for 50 but usually go a bit over. It is fun for me to look back at the stats and reminisce about what I read.

I bow to anyone brave enough to do salt. I never have. I do love the look of an all zoanthid tank though. The death is too pricey and heartbreaking for me. And some of the hitchhikers are downright scary🙄

A Spout is counted if:
• It’s an original Spout
• A Quote Spout
A Spout is not counted if:
• It’s a reply
• It’s an echo
I believe I have that correct…someone will correct if not…
What I’m trying to say is that you’re probably more active than you believe

Okay, this was tough because I get most of my books at the library but a lot are also digital downloads through Libby.

All my books are Libby audiobooks provided by my library.

Because of deteriorating vision I have to use an electronic device, therefore digital download. I loved my local library and its staff, but the hoops to jump through to get digital books from it was way too frustrating.

I have to say it's almost equal parts
Audible Download
Online Retailer
Digital Download
Brick & mortar store
A lot of times with crossover, getting an audible version of one I've already read because I liked it so much.

Jason Hay @jasonhayI hope the interest based feature will work better for connecting with the readers of Spoutible. I’ve been using these hashtags but I don’t see a lot of others adding them. #currentlyreading #FictionBooks #BookSpout #Reading #readingcommunity #SpoutibleBookClub #books #scifibooks #bannedbookofthemon08:13 AM - Dec 29, 2023

Jason Hay @jasonhayWow! I’ve been here since day one and have just over 200 spouts. It’s probably because I don’t get much engagement since I spout about books and food but most on here just want to talk politics.06:14 AM - Dec 21, 2023

Our local charity thrift shop has a huge selection of books. I’ve gotten most of mine there. Beautiful hardcovers barely used, if at all.

We have little free libraries too - I’m thinking more of just a cardboard box on the sidewalk, often with other stuff besides books mixed in! Especially during the lockdown I picked up a LOT of books that way 😀

“In a box on the street with a sign saying ‘Help yourself’” should be an option. Here in Berlin people often put out stuff like that.

We need more people who have aquariums on here. I have 2 elderly cats and will not have any more at my age. Will most likely dive back into aquaculture, probably planted tanks. I had 5 at one time, from 55g (cichlids/Mbunas) down to 5g (bettas, shrimp, snails).
