You'd be pretty safe with most Unitarian Universalist congregations. Their core value is questioning everything (while being very accepting of every instantiation of faith of whatever kind, or lack of faith, including & definitely embracing atheists). They are an interesting, refreshing bunch.

"Affirming Kansas' role as a free state"? Sure, if you ignore all the racism. Kansas was very much segregated and many towns were sundown towns. Lawrence was particularly harsh toward minorities causing many to leave and go to Kansas City or Topeka.

What do you know, we caught Covid at a funeral in southeast Kansas. Caught it from someone who had “allergies,” only to find out the next day from his doctor that it’s Covid. Funeral full of 70-90 year olds. MINIMAL thoughtfulness could have prevented this.
