My point was more that I usually like all different kinds of music and in this case, I'm at odds with the majority of my peer group. Just an observation.

And we are currently having a discussion on this topic without you threatening me and I am listening and responding without threatening you and I respect what you're saying. I would say that is being an adult in a conversation.

And that I will learn from that. But to attack me as a person rather than attack my ideas is where I have an issue. If she says what you said to me, that would have been different. But do we live in a world of no second chances? No ability for me to correct and apologize and then we can move on?

I've already said that it was the wrong word to use. However, threats against my person are not what this space is supposed to be about. This is supposed to be a safe space to talk about whatever. I'm aware of the usage of the phrase and honestly can't say why I used it other than it was wrong

It wasn't a threat of a block. I don't have an issue with that. I don't need someone to tell me to Google something. I follow your account and I don't agree with everything you post, but I don't reply to you and say something about you personally rather than your ideas,I respect that we are human.

We are not perfect people all the time, especially me. Tons of distractions in the world, typing fast, not thinking clearly. I'm open to discussion and being told that what I've said is offensive or a trope, etc, but to go straight to a threat is how we've lost our way in this landscape

I would except she threatened me and that's not ok. It's one thing to call out and have a conversation and understand that it's possible to make a mistake and make a correction. I was presenting an idea and it went straight to name calling and a threat instead of providing a counter point

You're right, it was the wrong choice of a word and not my intention. I admit that I was wrong.

Partner is a great word. The VP can be a thankless job sometimes because they do so many things that people don't see, but yet are ready to criticize anyway. Running mate always felt off to me. Presidential partner has a zingier feel.

I just saw that in Georgia too!!! The determination to keep things binary is fierce.

I'm writing to my rep now about ranked choice.

Love ranked choice voting. Is that a state level thing to pressure representatives to make it the default? I think we did it here in NYC for local elections but don't think it's for state wide positions

I like Kamala Harris. I'll be interested to see what she does in 4 years. Assuming of course that we don't sink into an abyss of another Republican presidency

Fear was the wrong word now that I see it again. In my personal view, id ike to see representatives elected that are closer to the median age of the US. Experience is also important, but for too long, older white men have been in charge and id like to see something else.

I mean I don't really think he thinks he would have a chance. It's a total longshot. It does get some people fired up for Biden though!

It's my understanding that no delegates will be awarded for NH right? Cuz of the fight over the date. So I think he'll still be around for the next primary and see what happens after that. we've seen with the Republican side, people will make their decisions when they see no path forward.

I think you're making incorrect assumptions. I'm not currently doing anything and I have not actually stated my political opinion here. This is where things go wrong on social media. You are making incorrect conclusions from information not presented. We have differing opinions and that's ok

Yes this is true, but it's still someone that was not elected and is effectively the incumbent. If she were running to primary Biden then that would be different.

We look to the past to predict the future, but just like in business, we don't always have to do things just because it's the way it's always been done. We've never had a president like like Trump, but here we are. Yes we do operate currently in a system of 2 parties. How do we break out of that?

Because I believe the art of conversation means we can present other opinions and think in a different manner than our normal way.

I believe it's more about stamina and energy. Not refuting experience but no one has experience being president until they are one. If as a society we say that late 70s are unemployable, then why do we want them leading our country? I'm not saying I agree, just offering an opinion

When the ultra left criticize some of Biden's decisions, I always have in the back of my mind, yeah but you don't know what information he was given and what compromises he had to make before making that decision.

I know I know .. what I've learned over the years is that we don't know what we don't know and we don't have all of the information. But that being said, projected image makes a big impression on people and you can never have another 1st impression

Just like we are not all one thing or another, at least the illusion that I don't have to settle for someone just because they're isn't anyone else against them. Even if it's not really a choice.

I have so many thoughts on this and not enough patience to type. I get angry sometimes that I only have 1 choice, even if I am satisfied with that political choice, it's also nice to see someone else say, hey here's another choice, what about this? Then at least I can say, yeah nope I'm good.

So while I don't agree with all of his decisions, I see the true person he is. I think we're missing that in social media. That's why I like spoutible! Having discourse is a lost art
