I can't scream that loud enough.
Another acct in the Top 10 said they would follow back anyone who echoed a certain spout. Despite having followed that acct forever AND echoing the spout, I do not see them in my list of followers. TPMO.

That was Tristan Snell. He pulled the same trick in Feb. Promised to follow back everyone who followed him over a weekend. He gained a cpl thousand followers that weekend and didn't follow a single one back.
I'm surprised he's so willing to tarnish his reputation this way. Don't fall for it again.
