I try to imagine what its like to not be politically aware and active. Then I remember I am a black woman in America. To not be politically aware and active is as good as making the noose for them to put around my neck. Some of you don't life as if your rights to live are in jeopardy and it shows.

Abused children don't usually grow up to abuse their children. I know how it feels to be beaten and neglected - treated like garbage. I was ignored by social services and even the police many times. There's no way I could inflict that pain or powerlessness on a other person.
