I use AI daily. It's fantastic for many things. The implementation was wrong here and the refusal to recognize that is what's odd. Just admit you're wrong and you'll fix it in the future. That's not too big an ask.

There's still the option of stating plainly, this is a tech issue, we realize there's a problem, and we will put it on the roadmap to resolve and reimplement. For now we think the good of Summary outweighs the bad. I would respect that. To flatly say no to any change, it's very odd.

This is my thought process too. Sadly, the creator of this website seems to be stuck in gear on this and unable to find reverse. A shame because I really wanted to continue supporting Spoutible and Threads equally.

It's a huge mistake and I don't know why @cbouzy is being a stick in the mud about it. It's okay to admit when you're wrong. This is feature had good intentions, but severe negative side effects. @spoutible already offers other on/off toggles. Why not here?

Your position is it's okay to summarize heart-felt stories, obituaries, essays with surprise twists, mysteries, or poems, or other threads where a summary negates the author's original intent. Am I getting that right? You really believe there must be no way to opt-out for authors? What is the harm?

It's like this wasn't thought through. Which is odd for @cbouzy because he's normally very good about these things. But no one bats 1000. Time for him to step back and reconsider this one. Even Steve Jobs made mistakes he walked back.

Obituaries, mysteries, stories with a funny ending, etc. This stance of yours that all those creative works should be summarized, sometimes with hallucinations or inaccuracies, by an AI is not friendly to the author or their intent. Why are you saying no to a fix?

Thread authors need the ability to toggle this feature on or off on a thread basis. I agree with Aaron's post. @cbouzy , is this something you can provide?

Can authors opt out of the summary feature? Perhaps on a thread by thread basis? Some things I write are meant to be a journey and a summary destroys my intent.

I agree that it is still not an open and shut case given the nature of jury trials, but the more people who admit to one of the contributing charges, the harder it will be for others to escape a guilty verdict. An early plea is probably their best option to avoid long jail time.

While we're on the topic, too much wealth in too few hands is bad for democracy too. Especially in a post-citizens united world where money gets a vote.

If a child is never exposed to organized religion but otherwise educated as today, you are telling me they will just spontaneously create one? I don't see any evidence to support that. Organized religion was created to keep its leaders in power and followers in line. It's not natural. It's abnormal.

I disagree. Religion that attempts to convert young followers is coercive and not normal human behavior. It's taught. Accepting the forced conversion of atheists to a religion should be prohibited for minors.

Equating society with religion is dangerous too

It's not normal to argue for laws to be passed based on religious tenets. Religion is a mind virus that requires oral and written repetition for the religion to grow. Taken together religions that do both are incompatible with modern society built on values of peace and equity.

...or it won't. But it won't be because Spoutible wasn't a great Twitter replacement. It will probably be because the critical mass needed to create a sustainable social media enterprise was never reached. It won't be for lack of trying, @cbouzy has worked hard to build a fantastic platform!

An enjoying Ahsoka. The dialogue needs to be punched up, but storytelling is solid. Lots to love about the core characters being three powerful women too
