But the last 2 weeks have been weird. Some factions seemed to be developing. Labels being applied to 'the others' (whomever they might be at the time).
Not a majority of users. Not even a large minority. And Spoutible is certainly not to blame.
Just a shame to see this. Hopefully its temporary.

I wish such a suggestion wasn't *necessary* Christopher.
I joined this site because I was sick of user behaviour on Twitter. Spoutible offered great tech to improve the culture. And for 3 months everything seemed very positive.

Pah! You northern hemispherians with your 1541 Commodore 64 disk drives!
Most of us* here in Australia in the 80s were waiting ten times longer... for our Datasettes (cassette drives) to load.
*Actually, I later got a disk drive, oh the joy!

Myles & Co, this is great!
My only feedback is that you have provided instructions re how to do *collab* threads, but not 'threads in general'. That would help a lot.
(Also, screenshots - but maybe that's something for your Collabathread 2.0) :)

To create a thread:
1. Write a post
2. Wait till it appears (as in, it shows up on the screen in its finished state)
3. Now *click on your post* (so it appears by itself)
4. Under the post will be a blue box that says "Add threaded Spout". Click on that.

Gabe, you might enjoy reading my old blog about retro/indie gaming.

The world isn't completely split into 'data' and 'creative' types. It's an analogue 000-255 range from black to white to tonnes of greys in the middle. ;-)
Sometimes, great writing happens when the person just feels compelled to write - and ignores their inner doubts for a bit.

Oh I wasn't confused about the authorship... just wasn't sure if you wanted any feedback... (considering the nature of the subject).
Re Australia, hehe stereotypes abound. At my house I am mostly in danger from our 2 cats! But I do find the occasional redback near our clothesline.

No idea. I guess that now Spoutible's "so close" to the app launch, all eyes/energies are on that.

Stéphane, thanks for sharing a deeply personal, and well-written tale.
I don't think 'heartbreaking' is adequate, but it's all I have. I pray that things somehow turn around in that beautiful country.

Hello CCL,
A quick note to say that I really enjoyed your story.
I'm an imperfect dad. Kids 13 and 11. We are not poor, but I would hope to echo some of the good work your father did in a challenging situation.
Thanks for sharing. And good luck with the Thread challenge.

I haven't had perfect mental health over the years but I would struggle to open up about it online.
Glad to hear that you've found a way to make meaningful changes. And your Spoutible 'mission'!

The only point I'd raise is with this line: "White America is one of the only countries if not the only one that refuses to accept blame for its past wrongdoings."
I'm in Australia, and believe me, we are 'sadly in the same club'.
This recent article would explain much better than I could.

Muriel,
I'm not American, but I'm clearly white so I don't know if you want feedback.
If you did, I'd say this is challenging, well written, and - as far as I know - very true.

Echoes of tales I've heard before, but plenty of fresh images and phrases. I wonder if its a story you could repurpose elsewhere on a larger scale?

Hey Jeremy, this is GREAT.
I'm always up for a joke stretched well beyond expected lengths... and this what THAT and moreso.
Anyone who can manage to combine gags about Aesop, 3rd party N64 games and JJ Abrahams in the one piece, gets my vote.
